I would rather spend $200 on 12 ply toilette paper. Better yet.......just wipe my ass with 200 $1 bills. At least the money wouldn't be a total waste!!

This is the equivalent of the DJ putting on "White Rabbit" or "Stairway to Heaven". Time for smoke, bathroom break, run to the bar and have a few rounds, then back to work. 60 minutes after this sells out I'm sure we'll "Detour to wine.woot". Enjoy the break!

Yes. If you make homemade beef jerky.

But, this would suck for that since the blade just sits there and doesn't rotate. I suppose veggies would work fine but it looks like it would be a waste of money to use it on meat.

I slice raw partially frozen beef, chicken, and pork by hand to make bulgogi. I love bulgogi and rarely make it because the slicing takes such a toll on my hands and wrists. Would one be able to slip a few pound partially frozen roast into this thing and slice with ease? Isn't the VG-10 steel a big deal in the cutlery world?

You can get one for $23.

Yeah - and that's the one I have. The one that's not fit for slicing string cheese. However, it does seem like the OXO is a nice compromise between completely useless (linked) and $200.

Woot offs suck everytime for every person, but always in completely different ways. For each person, though, of all the items shown, only about 5% interest any one person.

It's those rare times that you see something that you actually need that keeps us around.

Yep. For both Korean and Chinese BBQ (not to mention Japanese Shabu-Shabu ) you need a powerful mandolin to do the job w/ frozen meat.

This thing has a powerful enough motor /and/ the right kind of steel.
