That is a fact!
It was a convertible, too. So sticky. So bad. Prolly would've been worse if we had any sort of humidity.

why does every guy have to be changed? Why can't they be good enough the way they are? and if they aren't good enough that way, maybe you shouldn't be with that guy!

Why can't a man change the woman, huh? Women are more stubborn than men!

Didn't say change, silly. If you train a cat to use a litterbox, does that change the cat's personality? No.

I wouldn't change my husband for anything. He kinda saved my life. But would I use, say, NLP techniques to get him to start putting his dirty laundry in the hamper? Sure.

When I think of those East End lights, muggy nights
The curtains drawn in the little room downstairs
Prima Donna lord you really should have been there
Sitting like a princess perched in her electric chair
And it's one more beer and I don't hear you anymore
We've all gone crazy lately
My friends out there rolling round the basement floor
And someone saved my life tonight sugar bear
You almost had your hooks in me didn't you dear
You nearly had me roped and tied
Altar-bound, hypnotized
Sweet freedom whispered in my ear
You're a butterfly
And butterflies are free to fly
Fly away, high away, bye bye
I never realised the passing hours of evening showers
A slip noose hanging in my darkest dreams
I'm strangled by your haunted social scene
Just a pawn out-played by a dominating queen
It's four o'clock in the morning
Damn it listen to me good
I'm sleeping with myself tonight
Saved in time, thank God my music's still alive
And I would have walked head on into the deep end of the river
Clinging to your stocks and bonds
Paying your H.P. demands forever
They're coming in the morning with a truck to take me home
Someone saved my life tonight, someone saved my life tonight
Someone saved my life tonight, someone saved my life tonight
Someone saved my life tonight
So save your strength and run the field you play alone

No, it's a really long story. I was incredibly sick for about a year and he took amazing care of me. I'm sure that if he hadn't been there for me, I would be in the ground or in bad, bad shape.

I will share this, though:

When I first started having problems, I was dating somebody else. A mutual friend. That guy was never around, so hubs--a friend then--was ever-present to, say, take me to the ER if my seizures wouldn't stop or whatever.

One night, after a particularly rotten 2-hour-long seizure, I looked over at him and apologized, saying, "I'm sure I look terrible right now."
I probably did. But he looked at me and said, "No. You're beautiful. You're always beautiful."

Seconds later, my then-boyfriend came home. He took one look at me, smirked and said, "You look like sh*t! You look like you got hit by a truck!"

That's about when I decided it was time to make a change.

ETA: Apologies to those who've had to hear this story a thousand times.

That's a wonderful story! Orc saved me, but more in a metaphysical sense. I was in a bad place and he came in and helped me get out of it. Then he waited for me to get on my own feet before allowing our relationship to get to much beyond just friends. . .

So does that mean if a guy is looking for a girl he should find one he can save?
