Students have to answer 35 M/C questions, and 4 short answer. three of which I blatantly TOLD them would be on the exam. Here we are, 15 minutes before the end of a 2 hour exam, and four fools are still working on it.

Talk about UNPREPARED.

Now now professor! Don't go judging, maybe they just take their time with the questions. I had a classmate that got extra time (because she'd been in a bicycle/car collision) She got to have an extra hour and take her tests in a nice private room. She always was prepared, always used the full two hours, and always had the highest score in the class (in one class she threw the curve so far the professor used the graduate student curve for the whole class!).

Well...he would probably know the people that are unprepared vs really smart. I'm not saying that they aren't really smart, I'm just guessing that they probably weren't very prepared.

At least they're sticking around. If they're truly unprepared, I'm surprised they wouldn't be like, "Welp! I don't know this stuff!" and leave.

No kidding! Nothing like a little Test Anxiety, to make it take forever! And there is nothing worse than knowing you know the answer and not being able to drudge it up or think of how to write it in a coherent sentence!

Hey, it doesn't mean they're unprepared, necessarily. Sometimes I'd use the entire exam time to ace an exam. I'm very good at taking tests. Wrecking curves is fun, because not only have you done well, but you've just screwed everyone else.

I loved the bubble hockey, and they had a couple other fun video games when I was little and went there. One you flew a sort of attack helicopter, and you were actually sitting on something that swiveled left and right. The other was red and some sort of futuristic racing game, and in tunnels you could drive upside down on the roof. There might have been an ability to shoot competitors, too. I've looked a time or two to see what those games were called, but haven't figured it out. I can't imagine they still have those games at that location (except maybe the bubble hockey).

I used to work at the arcade down the street from chucky cheese, It was for "too old" for chucky cheese and the "too young" - we had a good sized section of 25 cent ride on toys. I played LOTS of games and have a list of favorites that is rather long and dependent on whom I am with.

No, these few were definitely waiting for inspiration to hit. They had no clue and they were hoping they came up with it while sitting there. But that's why I give them so much time- I want to give them every opportunity to do well.

But it does make it frustrating when one of them starts asking random questions when they should be concentrating on the exam.

well, sometimes i've tried that too... for me it was overconfidence... but i could often write my way out of some sticky situations

Most of them can. Which is good. But I love the questions like "I can't come up with the right answer. Will I get points off?"

Makes me laugh. Which is never good when they're still in the room.
