I would be really mad if I lived there.
It is bad enough when they close stuff for the Pope or the President when they come to NYC
The UN is a huge pain in the butt because of that

I imagine there is much whining, but I also know that there is some resignation as it happens more often than one would think.

recap for Gman

Nigra Falls = good

Michael Jackson ...... artist good.....personal life = not so good

Also: FIRE BAD!

I used to feel that 'energy' here in Vegas. For me, it decided to relocate to London. And Akaka Falls on the Big Island.

I guess it can't stay put.

I haven't been that many places, but I would guess Paris and Rome and London would be on that energy grid!

Gonna see if the dog will walk in the heat.

I'm not sure what our outside temp is yet, but I'm finally out from under the blanket. Might turn on the AC in an hour or so.

It was nearly 80 when I was driving to work at 6:50 this morning.
High 104.
Winds up to 30mph.

Oh apcray, michael jackson's funeral is coming on.
Jeeze. The guy might have been a child molester.
Nobody made this fuss about Gerold the Rat dying on the same day!
Gerold wasn't a child molester.

The guy was a born artist.
He was born to do it and he did it very well. The talent was real. Even if it wasn't your type of music, you had to admire his work. Especially the videos.
But get a grip!
This is crazy!

gerold didn't sell as many records/cds or put out as many videos. stellar character, but not as memorable.

perhaps i should rephrase. "not memorable to as many people." the evidence of the fuss over mj is the sheer number of people. i rather doubt even 0.1% of them have ever heard one of gerold's songs.

Kinda glad I'm not around any TV's so I can avoid all the MJ hoopla.

And kinda sad to see how so many people are literally worshiping the guy now that he's dead.

I understand the burnout. I think I'm getting there, too.

But I am not surprised by the media madness. He was an influential figure.

I'm hard-pressed to think of many people--let alone entertainers--whose death will garner such a huge reaction.

Daughter has dumped a drink into her laptop. I've taken the battery or and open the case and dried it with a hair dryer.I put it in a plastic bag and dried it some more. It has been suggested that I close p the notebook, leave it in the plastic bag and put a lot of rice in the bag and close it up. Any thoughts? Anything else I should try? I think it's fried because daughter cut it on after it got wet and then it cut itself off.

People are strange when you're a stranger
Faces look ugly when you're alone
Women seem wicked when you're unwanted
Streets are uneven when you're down
When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange x3
