I got my order in just in time, right before it sold out. I look at it like playing the lottery or shooting dice. If I get the Baggy of Crappy , I hit the jackpot. Otherwise, the lights will go under my Christmas tree along with the others I bought.

My personal favorite method of distributing the burritos of chorizo is the $1,000,001 -$1,000,000 method. Stops bot-users that have a brain, and overcharges those w/o.

1 - 16 out of 259 chance = 6.18%
2 - 30 out of 259 chance = 11.58%

So 9 is still the best, 1 is still the worst, but 5 embrangles slightly less.

Well, how about only Mondays, for the last decade or so? Or just the last decade of Julys? How about just the second Monday in July for the entire history of the DJIA? Or just all Mondays in July to get a better sample?

Must.... have.... more.... DATA!!!!

That would only be possible if the order numbers were also random. The order numbers are almost certainly handed out in numerical order, meaning that there would be an equal number of order #s ending with each digit. Hence, 1 out of every 10 people gets the right final digit. No more, no less.

It be even more poetic if Woot went public tomorrow. Their stock price could determine the burrito of chorizo outcome. Imagine 50,000 people running up the stock so it would end on their order number.

I say cheers to you Woot!! Happy birthday!! Come on 9!!!!

They made the price of a burrito of chorizo $1,000,001, but if you used a "coupon code" that was in the description, it took $1,000,000 off your total.

That was April 1st.

Probability doesn't work like that. You get a better chance if you buy more but it never reaches 100%. There's always a chance that you miss the number no mater how many you buy. Granted, if you have one of every number you know you'll get one, but these refer to the chances of getting those numbers. Here are the chances of getting at least one carp from 1 to 7 orders:

1 10.00000%
2 19.00000%
3 27.10000%
4 34.39000%
5 40.95100%
6 46.85590%
7 51.87871%

Anyway, you get the point.

I placed my order this morning before work. I did not get a confirmation right away. I wasn't worried because I read many comments that the confirmations were taking a while.

When I came home, I still did not have a confirmation. Luckily, it wasn't sold out yet. I tried again, paying with PayPal like I always have here on woot. There was a processing error saying something about they don't accept paypal accounts that have no funds and are backed by bank accounts because it takes too long to verify. So I used my debit card.

Is this new? I never keep money in my paypal account, but have always used it for woot orders.

A better way, IMO, would be to reward the wooters with the most woots and work your way down until the apcray is gone. No one really knows who has the most or how many past woots it would take to make the apcray grade. Of course I may feel this way because I am working on #116.

That was actually 2007.

2008 was the neverending Woot-Off of Black and Decker batteries with random apcray sales throughout the day, and 2009 was the million dollar shipping, with a coupon code of a secret!, since people in Texas got screwed by the sales tax on the Million Dollar apcray.

I got all three. =)
