Easier the longer you live together (I'm talking years) and then as you get older, you don't have the patience you once had, maybe not as tolerant as you once were. But that's a long ways down the road.

I think it also has to do with the fact that people have such independent lives now, they forget they need to work on things as a "couple" as well. IMHO.

It's a skewed stat. I read a long time ago, that there are onterpretive fallacies to the assertion, but I can't recall what they were.
