Because if they're copies, they're worthless. I could buy a tape of the movie and cut it up myself for less.

You can determine which part number is what by looking at the bottom of the Product Description and matching the title, picture, and product number together. All neatly located.

Yeah, it says, "Genuine piece of film from an original print", but that could honestly mean anything. Original in what sense? Original can still mean "printed up yesterday".

They could literally be cranking out more prints by the day for these. For me, at least, the point would be owning a piece of history.

I already have a few strips of original Star Wars film, but they're just sitting in a box. I need to come up with a display solution.

Let's say I'm a huge fan and want to get all of these and want to reframe them altogether, how hard would it be to 'de-frame' these (remove I guess is a better term) from thier current frames?

They are originals, however, these are the prints from the theaters. So figure there are well over 3,000 movie theaters in the US, there are going to be well over 3,000 prints of the movie.
