It's working fine so far. I got a black one (that seems to be the working model) and the only problem is a slight wonkyness with the headphone jack. The included earbuds' phono plug doesn't really fit in there right, but fortunately I wasn't planning on using those buds anyway.
Phew. Luckily I ordered the black one - it goes with everything, after all.
Rather than "slow boat from China," I think a better characterization of Smartpost is "chaotic, temporally flexible, alternate physics shipping."
Has anyone found a handy way to mount one of these in a car? Or manage the inevitable cable mess? I bought mine primarily to replace the 6-disc CD changer in my car's trunk, which has several shortcomings. I expect the Sansa itself will sit in a cup holder, but I'll be relying on a Phillips cassette adapter to feed tunes into my car sound system. Some kind of holster thingy mounted low on the console would probably work.
UPDATE: Finally got mine today, complete with USB interface/charging cable & earbuds.
UPDATE 2.0: Put in my 8 GB SDHC card, got it and the 4 GB internal storage just about full. Tried it in my car through the Philips cassette adapter; everything works so far! Now if only the Rockbox folks get that replacement firmware finished...
