m-audio products get pretty good reviews on Buzzillions. But there aren't many of them.
http://www.buzzillions.com/x/s?Ntt=m-audio+studio&N=0&D=x&x=0&y=0

I do a daily woot blog where I talk about the woot, link to CSEs, find reviews, etc. A few people have told me it's useful. Google "useful linkage" and there it is.

All this is decent "mediocre" equipment. Good for anyone new to the scene and trying to self produce, but in the long run - it won't last and you will find yourself upgrading. Good thing this isn't expensive, so upgrading shouldn't be a problem! Decent deal

Here's the discussion thread for a previous Wooting of some (but not all) of the same components back in June, and here's the blog post.

I notice that June's Wooting was $10 cheaper, but they were also refurb vs. today's Woot is new, FWIW.

"Recording Studio Equipment" without a full-size keyboard....Really?

And I stayed up to be the first one to comment - I don't have a musically creative bone in my body. What the heck good is this Woot to me? I yield the floor to someone who cares.

I have both the keyboard and mic, I must say they work very well and this is great deal.

very angry that they had this exact thing not too long ago but they were refurbished and i thought they would never have them again. about the same price, too.

anyway, i got the Torq Mixlab because i had used one before and wanted one of my own. It's good for beginner DJs, although doesn't offer much depth. M-Audio has good quality products.

Really great deals here, I love the M-Audio gear. KeyStudio 49 is an amazing entry level MIDI controller, and Torq Mixlab sells for over $100 other places. Grab this stuff while it lasts.

I have to pre-record skits for something, and I wanted a way to record it in a normal home. Will the microphone here help me cut down on background noise?

this is actually a great deal, although personally, I'm not a fan of M-Audio. The price is great for those who want to check out the electronic music scene.

If people are looking for some decent music software, check out Reason 4, Max/MSP, and Reaktor for things you could do with this set - a vocoder comes to mind.

As for M-Audio, I'm not a fan of their wares because of quality. Their stuff tends to break, and feels a lot less solid than that of other companies. Our music lab had a few of these keyboards, and I just wasn't really a fan.

I'm currently using an Edirol (part of Roland), which I enjoy using immensely.

The keyboard was only 49.99 on woot a few months back.. It sold out but what's up with that? Could bought this car pool for a cheaper price b4

Good price. I'd like to add that the mics with M-Audio are decent, but I'm not fond of the stands they have. I'm constantly fiddling with mine.

not last year either. I think Woot skips august so they do not have to power the woot off lights during peak-power month

Just in time. I was just getting ready to bust out some rhyms and needed to put a beat with it. Something like:

Come on Woot
No don't tell me
You got a key board
That you want to sell me

It's a waist of money
For a white boy in the country
Beer, pool, and pickup trucks
Is how I spend my money.

Darn last time I was debating getting the smaller keyboard, but it's not in the woot this time.

I got the microphone from last time they offered it up on here, and it is Phenomenal for vocals. Used it for my band if you want to hear samples *shameless plug* myspace.com/MinoJeta

Got the mic last time, worked AMAZING. Sound quality was great. I didn't get the keyboard and regretted it, but I just bought it. If you're not sure, BUY IT. This will sellout.

Those were refurbs and these are new - I believe there is a $10 difference, not bad for brand new gear...

Mac People: This is great for the basic keyboard intro course which comes with Apple's Garage Band. It's not going to turn you into a pro, but what $49 keyboard would?

rexvail

I got the keyboard back in June. It works well enough for what I need it to, but I was expecting more from the software end. The software it comes with (Session) is pretty bare-bones, and the drivers can be a pain. It also has a lot of random bugs, and their site to download drivers hassles you for info every time... not very user friendly either. The best thing in the package is the M-Audio Micro (which will allow for real-time monitoring of ANY microphone.) It works as its own "sound card." Not a bad buy for $60, though the "B-stock" was $10 less.

A "good" microphone will often pick up more background noise than "bad" microphone. That being said if you can control the background noise some this microphone will give you very good results. You can also use the Session Software included with the mic to remove some unwanted frequencies (AC hum, etc.)

I discovered Woot! mere days after they offered a similar bundle earlier this year, and I was kicking myself.

This is a very nice price, even for budget level equipment, and I've been in the market for a keyboard controller. Good deal. Thanks, Woot!

wanpakumono: alas, not all of us have the room for a full-size keyboard set up. But fortunately, not all of us are concert pianists either. This will be good for laying down tracks. Faster than a mouse at very least.

Oooh I have the Fast Track which is available through sellout.woot. Very nice! My microphone feeds into it. Really easy to use.
