Bo's recent Florida monkey host (Leif The Tie-dyed Hippy Monkey) had front row seats for Further (The Surviving members of the Grateful Dead) in Miami Friday Night.

I thought they should go for Grateful 2BAlive hoping the 2B makes them look more trendy. Phil Lesh the bass player turns 70 in a couple of weeks. He's had a liver transplant, so he's definitely grateful.

Here's some pics of the band (with one more monkey pic hidden among them)

This is unbelievable. When Bo first started, he visited, played, had his picture taken and was sent on. Now....

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

Bo has been taking in the sights and having lots of fun.

Off to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and surrounding tourist zone - that's Bo under the second 'g' in Pigeon Forge

Taking in some of the mountain scenery around Gatlinburg.

And of course a visit to Dollywood. It's off season so the park is closed, but we arrived on talent audition day.

Bojangles was sooooo tempted to try out! I agreed with him, though, that his unmatched combo of screaming like the souls of the damned while flying would be better suited to a more, um, experimental venue.

On to some of the sights in Knoxville. Bo spotted a nifty treehouse ("T" for treehouse, right??) with all kinds of cranes and scaffolding for climbing, perfect for him and his monkey buddies.

He was only a bit disappointed when I explained that it was actually the new facade being built for Neyland Stadium, home of our football Tennessee Volunteers, aka the UT Vols.

Bo perked right up when I pointed out the home court of our basketball Lady Vols. After I told him about them, and their outstanding tradition of competitive sportsmanship, he understood why we're so very proud of them and Coach Summitt.

The men also play there...and most of the time we're proud of them, too.

Knoxville appreciates basketball so much, it's been supersized. Bo scrambled up a tree to see if he could finish off that dunk!

The giant goal is on the exterior of the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame.

No tour would be complete without gazing upon the Sunsphere, a reminder of the first solar power craze and the 1982 World's Fair. How could Bo resist, when the allure of the Sunsphere drew in even Bart Simpson?

Bojangles really wanted to see the chimp troupe at the Knoxville Zoo, especially its newest addition, baby George. Unfortunately between the zoo's winter schedule and our alternating monsoon / winter storm weather, this didn't work out.

To ease our disappointment we made the drive to indulge in one of my family's favorite diner-dives in the world, Ridgewood BBQ in Bluff City, Tennessee. If any of you are Nascar fans, it's about 15 minutes away from the Bristol track.

Best - BBQ pork - sandwich - ever. The beef sandwich is good, too. With slaw. They only do sandwiches, no ribs, chicken or brisket. No website, no mail order sales for sauce or meat. No marked spaces in the parking lot.

But the BBQ beans...and hand-cut fries! Down your statins if you've got 'em...

Bo updates his journal with his friend Jethro. Hey boys, that bottle of one of Tennessee's finest products was full when Bojangles arrived - go easy on that!

Note to next host, you may want to lock up the adult beverages. Seems that the monkey has learned to really take advantage of having a designated driver.

I have to agree with Dolly on this point - Bo stole my heart, too. Hosting him was a fine adventure.

Close to home is where you'll have fun with your next host, in 'the Capital of Southern Hospitality' Columbia, South Carolina.

Jeeze, this is the slowest traveling monkey of all times!
I think he is getting out of the box. Having adventures we know nothing about. Then getting back in the box and traveling on.

Since Bo's travels had fallen to page 5, I'll kick it back to the top with some new pictures from Bo's recent Florida host, Leif the Tie-dye Hippy Monkey. Leif traveled to Atlanta last weekend with his Uncle Al and Aunt Janice to see the Jamband moe. at The Tabernacle

Leif with taper Marcus -- You can download Marcus' recordings from the two Tabernacle shows (along with recordings from many other bands that allow taping, including the Further show Bo saw in Miami last month) for free by clicking here (or by clicking on Marcus' picture).

Perhaps I should have chosen a less-recognizable mode of travel for Bo than a Woot box...?

Since Bojangles has been monkey-napped by w00t Secret Agents, it is time to introduce the NEW! Michigan w00t Monkey Correspondent/Investigative Reporter. Making his w00t forum debut is Vladamir the Irradiated w00t Flying Monkey! (he's from Russia by way of China)

His first report is from the scene of the "Fluffy Shop Tour 2010" in Kalamazoo at the State Theater to see Gabriel Iglesias.

Vlad was able to secure 4th row seats to the Main Event.

Vlad was even able to sneak on stage before the show started!

After a rowdy 3 hour show, featuring a total of 5 comedians, Vladamir was able to meet Gabriel himself!

As one my expect from Irradiated w00t Monkeys, there was a lot of drinking involved Sunday night, as well as a lot of cake!

Vladamir was very impressed by Gabriel's performance. Having already seen both of Gabriel's DVD's and Comedy Central Specials, Vlad was concerned that the show may have just been a rehash of old material. Most of the material was new however, much to Vlad's and the sold-out crowd of over 1000 people's appreciation.

Also appearing on stage were: Martin Moreno, Noe Gonzalez, Alfred Robles, and Edwin San Juan.

So until the w00t podcast team releases Bojangles from their secret prison, Vladamir will continue to report on various Michigan events as opportunities present themselves!
