Woot's nod to "If They Mated" provoked a lot of entries, especially in the "ineligible due to use of products that were not in the Woot-Off" category. The remaining entries almost all involved sticking the Cyborg joystick onto something. We've culled the best of those here, but the winners generally interpreted our challenge with a bit more imagination and visual panache. See for yourself:

First prize - $100
mnemeth - Bracelet O' Crap

The finest jewelry that two minutes' salary can buy.

Second prize - $50
Memphis - A Grill That Rocks

We wish they all could be California grills.

Third prize - $20
Minimum Rage - DVD Grill

Now with teflon-coated screen for easy cleanup.

Honorable Mentions

pixelpusher - Jacket O' Crap
Our favorite of the many jacket-meets-bag entries.

lroux - 500 joystick

Haw haw! You got us but good, lroux! Hope your credit card number doesn't wind up in the wrong hands, mwah-ha-ha! (Click on the image for a larger version.)

bofarr27 - Grinder for Gamers

With caffeinated convenience like this, who needs Red Bull?

Minimum Rage - Really Loud Joystick

Rage pwns this contest with a rare double-win. Like the Jacket O' Crap, this was the best-executed of many similar ideas.

gcube007 - Woot-It-All

Thoroughness: A. Beauty: C-.

KuruKishu - Phoneglasses

I'd bet my Ab-Tilt that these are already in production somewhere. (Click on the image for a larger version.)

msalsbury - Rio 250GB

A hundred times less durable than the original, but with a thousand times more storage.

Monkey Prize

biggandyy - Trainwreck
Get a load of Blingbot Boxpants here. Is he riding the locomotive? Did the train run into him and cause the derailment? Why is he cutting the phone? Who would love this creature enough to buy him fancy jewelry? So many questions - silence your chattering mind and just gaze in wonder at this bizarre meisterwerke.

So that's that. As always, Honorable Mention winners can enter the code HONMEN-FS for free shipping on a future order. Thanks, everybody, for participating in this exercise in woot husbandry. Have a bountiful Thanksgiving and we'll see you Friday.

About Edward Woothands in the Monkey Prize entry, I meant "WAS he riding the locomotive?" - not "IS he.." My trip, my bad, my bad trip, etc.

Wow!! I'm honored. And that was the one of my three that I thought had the weakest chance...

Props to all the winners, I especially enjoyed the war yesterday and today. Too bad I have to actually spend my time working, otherwise I would have joined in..

Congrats to the winners.

I tried to take a different approach this week... I figured with 12 different entries I could at least get ONE mention... I think maybe the woot people blocked my screename after all the mean things i said a few weeks back so they arn't seeing my entries... the only explanation i can think of :-P

I had the image saved in my woot folder, and then when i went back for some reason i thought it wasn't listed after looking over the page several times

The Rio Cali (Nov. 3rd) and the WD 250 GB HD (Oct. 29th) were not in the Woot! Off.

It was still a cool idea.

I was amazed at the sheer volume of people who couldn't seem to follow the simple instruction to make a product that combined TWO WOOT-OFF ITEMS. But hey, ignoring the rules seems to pay off, as several entries that should have been disqualified earned honorable mention. Heck, the first prize winner wasn't even created in Photoshop, but is instead a photo of an arts and crafts project they made. Kudos to you!

*Childishly bitter that my entry ((posted below) didn't get at least a mention*

Anyway, this was my first entry, so I'm sure I've got months of future rejection to look forward to. :)

Happy Thanksgiving to all and congrats to the winners! Be careful driving out there.

I loved the train wreck scenarios! Hope the cat was building up an immunity (love that movie, btw).

Can't wait to see what they come up with on this Friday! I'm learning more and more photoshop because of this, but would love to know if there is good material out there to really teach you how to use it. Anyone?

LOL
Yes. Yes, it is.

I'm sure the 2 (two) extra "A's" and the additional "H" are just typos.

I guess my entries weren't imaginative enough! :)

Hey, wait! Is that Woot using my credit card like bats-out-of-hell that set the Beverage of Choice afire? <hee hee hee!>

Congrats to the winners!

Somehow I think that we ALL ended up winners, getting to watch the HILARIOUS kitty war! How hard *can* you laugh at work and still pretend to be working?!?!!

Woot! and Wooters are the best. Hats off, dudes (and for the Wootettes, I went out and bought a 'fridge full of cheese.....)

Sorry, the rules don't dictate that you use photoshop. Just the ones that do look incredible...

from the rules: "Use Photoshop, pen and ink, collage, MSPaint, Etch-A-Sketch, tattoos, whatever"

Your first entry was good! Wish you the best of luck in the future contests!

Let's do a contest in which we make up a wine named for one or more of the whiners, their complaint, or just their general angst. "Subtly rank, yet unrefined, and ever so deftly clue-free"....

There was a small debate during the last contest about the same issue - the judges don't follow their own rules. I noticed it almost immediately and quit entering contests after a couple of weeks. Usually I despise structure, but in a contest, it is pretty much necessary.

I suppose if Woot says there are three items in a bag of crap, they will actually ship any number of items, since attention to details doesn't seem to be their strong suit.

I stop by each week and look at the entries and award prizes in my head. But I play elsewhere.
