Indeed. Dell.com has their netbooks with Linux OS brand new for 199.

Bought this last week. Needs a RAM upgrade, keyboard is cramped and the type of plastic makes the mouse sticky... BUT IT STILL ROCKS!

Certainly fits netbook form factor, not to mention it has an Aspire One logo on it. I believe it to be an older high end model.

I bought this w/ the 6-cell battery.

It plays pop-cap games well, but gets hot giving it all the ventilation it can produce on it's own.

I upgraded to the 2G ram easily, but i don't think it needed it.

In a concrete filled basement, the wifi spot is 100 yards away through 3 walls. Classmates w/ older, large laptops get a signal and mine is intermittent, although they are tethered to a AC line and I have the run of the room. In my house and other wifi spots it's good enough.

The only problem i see is this 3 cell battery, if you are going to compromise for a weaker pc the reason is for the 7 hour battery life, so why get this w/ a 3 cell.

Whatever notbook i buy in the future, if any, i will make sure it's got the battery life like this one.

They shipped a 3-cell battery with it, called them up and they are sending out the 6-cell I should have gotten. Hope I get to keep the 3-cell as a back up on long flights!

not having a 6 cell battery kinda kills this deal imo. These are pretty decent though once you upgrade their ram to 2 gigs.

I just got one of these, the touchpad is not large enough or sensitive enough, but i have not tweaked it yet.
Otherwise, I like it. Smallish screen comes with any netbook.

Can you add something to this to get it to a 6-cell unit? If so, how much does it cost?

I can't believe this thing is a WOOT! killer. If I didn't already have a netbook I'd be all over this deal. These things usually fly outta here too.

Always a risk. But IMO, a more acceptable risk than buying a refurb from w00t. YMMV, mais certainement.
