Why is woot printing what the product is on the on FedEx labels? Is that just inviting a dishonest person at FedEx to steal the package? They put it in the purchase order number field.


For example, the order I got today states my order number and then 120GB Hard Drive on the Fedex label. To me, that's just an invitation for someone to steal.

Just curious as to why woot would do this.

Do you know how much stuff fed ex ships? Do you know how big of a deal it would be if they took it and someone found out? I belive it would be a felony, and they would be lloking for a new job. It wouldn't be worth it.

Still single, can't imagine why.

It wouldn't be worth it to you. Others may not agree. Some may believe that they won't be caught, or may believe the risk is worth the reward, or may enjoy the "rush" of stealing something valuable, or may be looking for a new job anyway, or be disgruntled FedEx employees. Crimes are committed all the time, in spite of laws against them. Just because FenStar wouldn't steal a FedEx package is of little comfort to the customer who has his woot stolen. Not printing the product description on the outside label seems like a very easy and simple way to reduce risk.

I need to know if Woot ever uses the United States Postal Service to ship. This is why:
USPS will not deliver to my house (I live in rural lake tahoe, where we date our sisters...) and Fedex and UPS etc. will obviously not deliver to my post office box. Therefore, my bind is that I'm not 100% sure which address I should tell the Woot-Tang Clan to ship my doo dads too. This has prevented me form ordering all sorts of majestic crap. HELP ME by answering my dumb question. Thanks.

ps. Do not sarcastically and dismissively refer me to the FAQ. I already checked there, and the answer is not clear...

It's pretty much FedEx, but I think you can sign a FedEx "waiver of signature" that goes on file and they'll leave the package at the shipping address, whereever you request, like your backdoor, at home. The reason for the italics is people have posted that items get delivered to the wrong addy, stolen by nasty neighbors, and other problematic scenarios. It's a risk...



From what I can tell you, unofficially, woot uses FedEx, most of the time, and UPS, on occasion. I have never received any woots via USPS...you might try e-mailing service@woot.com for confirmation. :-)

Click on your account on the top of the page

then click on each individual order

when you click on the tracking number, it automatically links to the FedEx site

check if your order was actually placed (and not cancelled) by clicking on the "your account" page.

if it's there, try tracking the shipment and/or e-mailing service@woot.com

I was just wondering about how long it takes before woot ships the iteams you buy... i bought the mp3 players 6 days ago and the xbox headsets 5 days ago and when i go to 'your account' and click on the iteam numbers all it still says is,
"your order is in.
you're all set now.
click here to view your receipt."

Shouldnt it say, your iteam was shipped by _____ and the tracking info is ______ or somthing. or am i looking in the wrong places? ]

I posted this somewhere else, but seeing there is more activity here.....

Placed an order and was not yet familiar with S#!^Post. Now the tracking says they attempted delivery (USPS) but I was here and no-one left a notice, so I don't know how to reschedule (several usps locations nearby)

Might be smart for woot.com, but for me it is just S#1^^!. I wish I had known before ... hope they have other shipping options.


When I saw fedex in the tracking, I was happy, when I saw it was handed off to usps I thought "this is not good".

and now I have to "WORK" FOR IT.... Bah.

Ordered Sharper Image e-reader on 3/25/11 and was told it would take five days to receive - it is now 4/2/11 and still have not received in the mail. Also, have not received email informing me the date of shipment. Not a good way to run a business! Where's my order???????

Since the box limets what you can see, I can not tell what my options are in shipping something to an APO address. After choosing APO, I am trying to enter AE for Armed Forces Europe to I can have something sent to me in Afghanistan, but it looks like my option might be Armed Forces Pacific..... I am not sure what the other options are in the drop down menu. Does anyone know how to view the options or what the options are in choosing the entry for "state" on the order form?

I think we need to boycott Woot until they change the way they ship! They ship Fedex ( read Post office) and do not offer UPS as am option. Makes for long delivery times.

Example I ordered on 10/07/2011 and it shipped. Today is 10/15/2011 and I just checked at my local PO and nuthing. And the Postmaster said Fedex don't deliver on Saturday.

AM I PO'ed? Yep!!! Big time.
I/We the ones that keep Woot in business need to quit using them until they change their shipping standards. !!!!

On the other hand I placed an order on Tiger Direct and it was here in two days. No excuse for the slow shipping that WOOT does!!!

Wow does it really take Fedex over 2 days to go 46 miles??? Item departed originally on January 25, and just this past Saturday it said it was in transit to destination. Wow. Really?

Well since this post was already resurrected from the dead today, I may as well post my shipping question here as well.

With this new-fangled shopping cart putting all of our items in one order, is there any way to tell what part of our order has been shipped? I know from my last purchase that the different items are probably shipped separately but I don't see any way to tell what tracking number applies to what items. There is one item in my order that I really want quickly the other two can take their sweet time, but I have no idea what part of the order I just got a tracking number for.

Usually you will see a tracking email sent to the email associated with your account (for each item).

Usually shipping takes 3-5 business days from the day of purchase (in most cases less than that)

If you're concerned about the shipping status of your order(s) please feel free to email into Woot Member Services at support@woot.com and they'll be more than happy too answer any questions you have.

Thanks ROGETRAY, I'm not concerned about the shipping status of my order at all. I'm just impatient. It had barely been one business day when I posted. I was just wanting to make sure that I wasn't missing some way of telling what tracking number goes with which item(s). This wasn't an issue in the time B.S.C. (before shopping cart) since each order had only one item.
