Just a note, if you have a long haired dog (we have a Keeshond) a Dyson might not be the best buy.

Our Dyson Animal (DC17?) gets hair wound around the belt and gears and needs to be manually cleared at least twice during vacuuming. Our Hoover needs such treatment only once a month or so. I called Dyson about this, they were very nice at first, but eventually basically said this was acceptable behavior.

Do these have cupholders?

Per woot:

Do the accessories really only weigh .20 lbs? All those bruches/attachments weigh 3 ounces combined?

I have a Kirby G6 and I Dyson DC17 Animal. The Kirby hardly if ever get's used. The Dyson wins hands down for better suction and for complete ease of using the attachments.

The Kirby has a much stronger brush and it had automatic "drive" meaning it pulls itself, but you have kneel down and disassemble the thing to put the attachments on.

I've had no issues at all with the Dyson and would not want to be without it as a dog owner.
