Evening all. Should be here for the rest of the night. Proofing to do and bills to pay.

I don't either. Just got home. Went to Wal Mart after work.

Forgot the grocery list. So I have to go to the grocery store in the morning. & that's it.

NO more shopping.

Hi all!

Finally managed to meet-up with Santa at the mall. BEST SANTA PHOTO ever! If the photographer didn't get a good shot he should be forced to surrender his camera and retire! I took a shot after he was done (they are totally cool, you don't have to buy a photo to see Santa at all and you can take your own pictures. That will be going on facebook, although admittedly I could've zoomed in a bit.

Anyway both girls ran up to Santa and gave him huge hugs and then climbed on his lap.

Fortunately, I don't have to go to a major shopping center tomorrow. To a restaurant to get gift cards (they give you 20% more free for all that you buy. I'm getting $300 worth, so free $60), to Game Stop, to the grocery store and bank (within the store).

Yup, I did the banks, post office, WalMart run today.
Tomorrow is the grocery store and then I'm done.

I hope.

I think I'm done. . . but then I don't get to go out anyway, so I guess I should say Orc is done, and even if he isn't I don't think he wants to go anywhere.

I don't blame him.... at this stage of the game it's just miserable to fight the crowds to shop.
I baked cookies tonight. It's just not Christmas without baking cookies.

My niece wants cookies. I'll get the stuff for her tomorrow morning. She can bake.

I'm making a pot of Chili Christmas Eve, and then I have to bake the ham and sweet potatoes Christmas Day. My Dad is bringing the rest. Niece will help with the sweet potatoes.

I have the Pillsbuy sugar cookie dough, where you break off little squares, put colored sugar on top, and bake. They taste as good as what I make. Rephrase - used to make. I'll never do another cutout cookie if I can help it. Been there, done that.

Not too bad at the mall tonight, it's just so different being in a college town. So many people are gone, even the locals go visit family for the holiday. Still I imagine grocery stores and Shopko/Walmart are probably bad.

It was about 1:30 when I was at WalMart. Not really too bad, and I didn't have to wait to check out.
The thing that took me the longest was wrangling the 44 lb. bag of dog food out of the cart and into my car.
I bet I struggled with that thing for 10 minutes.

That's one chore I don't miss from having a dog. Sorry you couldn't find some nice young guy to help you wrangle the bag.

No kidding!!
But it's my own fault..... I always park way out in the parking lot to force myself to walk to and from the car. Plus easier to back out of my spot.
WalMart parking lots are accidents waiting to happen.

She can do the snacks. She is working Christmas Eve day, so I'll make the Chili then.

The ham is easy. Hopefully niece wants to do the sweet potatoes. I'll help her

I understand! I hate dealing with insane parking lots, especially when people are already edgy.

I edited my previous post to add a picture. . . .

Here

The girls are so excited for Christmas and they are just amazing this year. They haven't even attempted to find out what their presents are because they agree that it's no fun knowing. So we left their gifts to each other sitting in plain sight in brown paper bags, they knew not to look and didn't try.

Evening all
Good day at work. We had our holliday breakfast at one of the dorms. The food sucked so I just was having pancakes and coffee when the manager comes over to chat. Then the A/D comes over and drops a gift bag in front of me. I thought it was for the manager but as it turned out they had drawn my name while I was talking.I won an iPod nano. Mrs Ice had just bought me one a couple of weeks ago so she got this one.
Got a little work done then a meeting for an hour after lunch. Finished a project that I wasn't going to start until Jan 5. Had a little time to help the guys from next door with some stuff.
I work until 10:30am Wed.and intend to do just enough to make the time go by.

I guess it's good to know that dorm food is generally inedible everywhere.

Congrats on the nano! I need to load up the one Orc won and gave me to take to work.
