This, quite frankly, blows monkey chunks. What was the point of providing the rebate form if Samsung isn't going to accept it?

Email service@woot.com and explain. Forwarding the email from Samsung will probably help as well. Be sure to include your order number.

So is that the trick? _PRECISELY_ 30 days from today?

And where and how can you actually spend this VISA debit card? Only on their products?

Will WOOT accept this card for another purchase?

I got a postcard today saying they wouldn't honor the rebate because "WEP470 Missing UPC". But I know I put the UPC in the envelope, because my UPC code was slightly torn, and I attached a note to that effect saying it was like that when I got it. I guess I'll send in the copy of the UPC and see what they do (I scanned it before I sent it in), but this doesn't make me happy. Has anyone gotten the rebate?

Jan 15th update: I emailed service@woot.com and they gave me the 800 number for the people handling the rebate. It is 1-888-709-7079. The person I talked to there said they would check on my submission and get back to me in 7-10 business days.

"Request must be postmarked 30 days from date of sale"!!! Don't forget to read the microscopic print at the bottom of the rebate form! Even though the rebate is valid through Jan. 15th, you have to have your rebate post marked by Dec. 27th. No $20 for me! I'm glad the bluetooth was somewhat decent.

Anyone receive their rebate yet? Mine "is valid and is scheduled for final processing." But it has been like this for weeks. Any idea what takes this company so long to refund money?

My boyfriend and I submitted rebates the day after the headsets arrived at our respective residences. We both have yet to receive anything. Is there a place that I can check on the status of the rebates?

On January 12 I received the following email:

Dear xxxxxxxxxxx,

We have received your rebate submission for Receive $20 Prepaid Card with the purchase of a Samsung Bluetooth Headset.

Your rebate tracking number is: xxxxxxxxxxx

To check your rebate status just click on https://securetrack.rebatetrack.com/promocenter/trackdetails.html?track_number=xxxxxxxxxx

Please be sure to keep a copy of your tracking number for future reference.

Thank you for your purchase. We look forward to serving you again.

Sincerely,
Your Rebate Center

Of course the link does not work - however you can go to:

http://www.rebatetrack.com/promocenter/parago/track.html

and check on the status that way, mine is still in processing

Mine too! the link they send with the e-mail saying that it was valid and processing does not work.

Going to rebatetraker.com to send them a note allows me to put in all my info, but it requires a manufacturer from the drop down list and guess what? There in no samsung on the list and with out a manufacturer they don't accept the e-mail submission.

I'll email woot but I am very dissapointed with this.

Try sending them an e-mail from their "contact us" link and you will get to the drop down menu where it requires a manufacturer and you won't find Samsung. Without the manufacturer number you can't contact them, it won't send your message without it.

This is so reminiscent of the office depot rebate fiasco through a company that went under and walked away with the money it is scary! (it was called.... something... tree??)

I called Samsung a few times and they dont have a rebate department. They said they gave the rebates to woot and now it's woot's business.

My order has been "valid and is scheduled for final processing" since December 28th.

I sent my rebate form with the UPC code in December, still I am not able to track my rebate at http://www.rebatetrack.com/promocenter/parago/track.html. I also did not get any e-mail with tracking number ? what do I do ?

The $20 MIR is lost ?

When I go to the website to check my rebate status it shows nothing so I called the Samsung rebate center and they said that they don't do Bluetooth rebates as they are only 1 of several companies which the rebates are outsourced too. They did not know the number for the other rebate centers so they sent me to the Samsung customer service and they sent me to the cellphone accessory dept. and that girl had no clue what in the hell I was talking about but said she would open a case file and they would call me. I doubt I will ever hear back. This is frustrating. I definitely would not have purchased the product if it weren't for the rebate.

I'm going to try that 888 number someone posted hopefully that will get me somewhere. Boo to both Woot and Samsung.

When I called 1-888-709-7079 they sent me to rebateshq.com. From there I was able to check the status of my rebate. Odd that Samsung has rebate status checker on their website but it's only for certain rebates and of course the site doesn't say that. Mine is marked as "valid and ready for final processing." I wonder how long it will take now.

I'd like to take this woot off chance to say this is absolutely ridiculous! No rebate for over 2 months now.

I've emailed both the rebate company and woot. I'm about ready to dispute the charge through my credit card company if no one can solve this.

It struck me today that I still hadn't received my rebate and my first thought was perhaps I accidentally threw it away, mistaking it for junk mail. But NOPE! It's still scheduled for final processing when I checked today (thanks to previous poster for posting a link that actually works.) I kind of find the whole thing humorous... I mean, how ridiculous can this be?

Since purchasing my headset, I have become pregnant with my first born. Perhaps one day I will receive my $20 rebate card and can give it to my future child for some gas money, as I assume he will be driving by then.

I used the contact us link on the tracking website and picked the first company name and explained that it was a Samsung and received the following reply:

"Thank you for your rebate inquiry. We are pleased to inform you that your submission has been received and validated, and it is in the final stages of processing. Your prepaid card should be mailed by 04/06/10."

Are you kidding me - i submitted the rebate in December and they will send it to me in April??????

Well that's something.

I just (again) checked on mine (email link broken, entered tracking # directly into the website) and it's still valid but still processing. The date of the email I received in which they said they had received my rebate was 12/23.

I sent an inquiry via their Contact Us link, had to choose a BS manufacturer since Samsung is not listed, and asked them to get back to me with the freeking status.

So, if you're reporting that you've heard it might be sent in a couple weeks, or at all, I guess that's encouraging.

Congrats for the lucky few that received the rebate. I guess they are waiting until the warranties expire (I can be wrong though).

Rebate finally arrived.
Purchased 11/17/09; I guess Samsung uses the not-so-smart post as well.
The gift card is a VISA that you can spend anywhere that accepts VISA. You need to use it within 6 months or they start charging a $3/month fee.

My rebate submission was acknowledged as received by the rebate center on Feb 1, 2010 and accepted as valid on or before Feb 8.

Since it the 8 weeks processing described in the rebate form had elapsed, I called. "Due to overwhelming demand" the new expected date to send your rebate is April 26.

Since all the paperwork was received and deemed valid by Feb 8, why does it take 11 weeks to send the money?

Simple answer is it doesn't. The time extension is just another obsticle to frustrate folks so they won't pusue collection further. Or put more simply, it's designed to reduce the rebate payout ratio. The only reason rebates are used instead of discounts is that many folks don't follow through with rebates. And the more hurdles that can be placed in the rebate path, the fewer folks will collect.

When you try to complain, there's no one to complain too. Who's going to spend any time on a $20 legal issue.

The real problem is the collusion between the suppliers and the merchandisers. Both know about the rebate game, but wink at each other with the realization the impervious "rebate center" will handle the heat - that's what they're primaily paid to do - reduce the rebate rate.

Shame on you Woot!

Still waiting for mine.

It showed up as "approved" the second time I sent in the complete information and photocopies:

Tracking Results: Status Details
Rebate: $20.00 Prepaid Card
Rebate Information For: nnnnnnnnn
Promotion: Receive $20 Prepaid Card with the purchase of a Samsung Bluetooth Headset
Submission Type: MAIL-IN
Date Received: 02-01-2010
Status Detail: Your rebate is valid. Please allow up to 30 days to receive your rebate.

The "contact" form doesn't list Samsung so can't be used.

The "voice response" number doesn't allow actually asking about late rebates, that's not an option.

I tried emailing Woot again and got the response that Woot can't help and I should phone the useless phone number, again.

Dang, it's one thing to have the government using my money to bail out these failing companies. It's a whole different thing to have Woot get me to make no-interest longterm loans to failing companies.

I guess I was a sucker. So, how many people were supposed to get a $20 rebate?
How many did? Statistics would be interesting.

I'll report back if the rebate ever turns up.

that's 6 months after some "ANNIVERSARY DATE" -- undefined anywhere in the small print except "after the card is issued" -- how long ago was it "issued"??
