I bought one of these on Black Friday (minus accesory kit) and for less than this price.

Mine is red and non refurbished, and I have to say, I LOVE IT.

With Windows 7 Ultimate on it, all the drivers just work when installing the OS. (Including WebCam) I just installed Windows 7 drivers for Intel graphics (added 0.1 points to Aero score) and the Synaptic trackpad driver.

Battery life can be up to 3 hours with the 3-cell if you are just doing light weight tasks and have the brightness down. About 2.5 if you are doing a bit more heavy work. 3-cell battery makes the machine super light and a nice block-like profile, no bulge at the back.

Keyboard is very easy to type on and the layout is standard (unlike my old eee PC 900 from Woot...... HORRIBLE layout on the cramped keyboard.)

Trackpad isn't bad, and once you get used to it is good. It's small, so that is what you will have to get used to -- and it has a slight dead spot at the bottom of the surface where you think it should work but it doesn't. This is very minor.

The unit is super quiet, and even when the fan comes on it's hard to hear.

It doesn't get too hot. The eeePC's keyboard became super hot -- not on this unit. It's just warm.

Screen is super bright but has a very blue cast to it. I found a ICC file online that fixed that problem and it's much closer to D6500 now. White LED backlighting results in orangish reds and not very strong greens, but overall the screen is fine. It's plenty bright, even on the lowest brightness setting.

Overall, this is a great netbook.

Does anybody know if this has built in bluetooth?

Not really that great of a deal considering you can purchase a dvd drive for $30-$40 (high end) and this only has a 3 cell battery.

KEEP looking a wide range of dual core netbooks are coming out IN january.

Looks like the black is sold out, still available in red and blue.

Ezpcconcepts wrote:Not to mention if you are that worried about it, you can buy the extended warranty via Square Trade. Here is a 20% off coupon code I got in the mail good until 01/10/10 or the first 10,000 respondents.. HOLIDAYMAIL.
I opted for a 2 yr warranty for an additional $15 bucks which the coupon code covered nicely.

In general, are 1 year warranties worth purchasing?

I asked earlier but no one answered I was wondering if this would be ok to get for my Mom so she can look at pics of her grand kids on or if I should get the one on Sellout or just wait it out for a better deal.

Somehow two speakers seems just the way Nature intended stereo to be. Who knew?

This made me chuckle.

Does anyone know about how long shipping would be on this item? I'm looking into this for a gift for Christmas and was wondering if it would ship and arrive in time. Thanks!

Oh, Man!

I bought this exact same computer on Black Friday. It's a great little machine. It cost me about $15 less than woot's price, but didn't come with that cool accessory pack. I wish I knew this was coming up, I would have waited.

This is a great deal - I paid $299 for a new one a few months ago, and I absolutely love it. I get about 2.5 hours of battery life from the 3-cell, and I'll probably order a 9-cell in a month or so since I'm using the thing so often.

My parents like it so much that they just wooted a blue one for my dad.

Yes, it has integrated wifi.

rajeeja wrote:will it ship to chicago by 22nd december?

Most likely. I posted on a board to find out when the last 'safe' day to Woot before Christmas would be, and was told that they'll shift to more rapid shipment methods when needed.

Things do seem to be shipping out faster lately too. My sister wooted the Clocky on sellout.woot on the 7th - it arrived in Birmingham yesterday.

I bought 3 the same as you and got the extended warranty. Just in case you were are still interested go to the woot history post page:
http://www.woot.com/Blog/ViewEntry.aspx?Id=9526

click on the Square Trade extended warranty link. Select 2yrs instead of one and use discount code: HOLIDAYMAIL to receive 20% off.

They will still give you the extended warranty as it will start the day after the 90 day warranty expires. Just be sure to put in the actual purchase date and you are golden.

I did, got 2 years instead of one and got 20% off with coupon code: HOLIDAYMAIL.

Maybe it's my own prejudice, but I'd opt for the Acer because it is running XP and not Vista. (not to mention the extras)

In for one!
Just bought a Compaq Mini for $180 on Black Friday, but this is the next best thing!
I read somewhere, maybe here, that the new line of Atom chips are due early next year. Got a feeling we'll see more of these kinds of deals if not better. Gotta unload all these 1.6GHz.

The Aspire One has an Intel Atom N270.

Integrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950, which is what this Acer has, is the same as GMA 950. Atom N270 is the processor. XD If you don't believe me, here are some vids.

A refurb. is not the same as New, because one does'nt know why the system had to be refurbished in the first place.

If a refurb. was just as good, the warranty would'nt be 90 Days, instead of 1 year...

I ordered a few hours ago and got an email confirmation fairly quickly. I just checked and it shows up under My Account as well.
