I bought the Dyson Ball vac from Woot about six months ago.
Love it, love it, love it. The air in the house gets CLEANER as I am vacuuming (Yay HEPA!).
It picks up pet hair and kid hair and all kinds of junk. It picks up so much stuff that I would be changing bags every second time I vacuumed if I was using a bagging vacuum. Note--dump it outside to avoid messes, although once I stupidly dumped the whole shebang out on the carpet. Just stuck the cannister back on and cleaned up the mess lickety-split.
The Ball is great. I love being able to curve it around. I can see it getting to be a strain on wrist for someone doing it all day, but for doing the house, man, it's great.
The biggest drawback is one of our cheap rugs. It has yarn glued to the top of main fabric in a less than immovable way. When the yarn ends come loose (which they do on their own--it isn't a very good rug), the Dyson rips them right off.
But I rather have vacuum that cleans too well than one that leaves stuff on the floor.
Go Dyson! I love mine, and I bought it because my friends all love theirs. Go Woot!
