Why? Open case, see Bestec power supply, return to customer telling them it's not worth fixing. Done. Takes less than 5 minutes.
Listen to me now, or hear me say "I told you so" later.

Mornin' boys and girls! Just checking in with a quick howdy. I'll try to keep an eye out for deals but:
1. Can't spend much $$
2. Everyone is on pins and needles about "the boss" looking over our electronic shoulders
3. Feeling like the w00t-offs have lost their sparkle.
Have fun everybody!

Gawd, how I'd love to be in your position!! Been looking but the jobs... they just aren't out there! So I'd better hang on to the one I have!

[quote postid="3807963" user="rbarger"]Yes. Because the hard drive, processor, memory, power supply, CDR/DVD drive and other components are so different amongst all those manufacturers it must be difficult to make sense of the EMachines for you "IT Professionals". Give me a break; a PC is a PC; if you are good at what you do it is pretty easy to repair any of them with any issue.[/quoute]
Slimline is a different case, but point taken.
Because the hardeware is so similiar (although I would argue that Lenovos and Dells are built to a higher standard) I focus mainly on the software enviroment of the computer when you get it.
If you'd ever used an HP fresh out of the box you'll realize my horror. I don't have the luxury of just reimaging a computer that a friend has already setup and used.
112 woots and counting, since 2007. Don't ban me, bro!

From the open case picture, you can see that this just has two memory slots. With each slot holding a 1GB dimm, you'd need to purchase 2x 2GB sticks to upgrade this to 4GB. If you buy this and plan on upgrading the memory, bear this in mind!
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make a quality post, honest!
