Whew! Got nine dozen eggs boiled. Got eight pounds of 1-inch cubes of pork marinating. Got a huge amount of tzatziki sauce made. Tomorrow is store (need more cucumber), post office and dessert making. Then the COLORING OF THE EGGS!

When I was a kid I wanted to be older, this CRAP is NOT what I expected.

WOW! That's a lot of pork! I'm not as surprised by the eggs this year, because you boiled so many last year.

Still - if someone sat down and ate all those eggs, they wouldn't be pleasant to be around!

I'll let you know. I'm used to it right now, but when I came in from the store earlier, it was obvious.

We stopped cooking on both sides of the family now.
I think we are ordering a ham, turkey breast, string beans and mom is making a veg. We are buying desserts.
Appetizers were voted out. No salad anymore.

We never did a fancy dinner for Easter. . . dunno why. We did normally go out to my grandparents, but my Grandma also did our Easter baskets so it was partially to say thank you (that and going to the farm was always the best!)

edit: The farm was a hog farm, so ham generally wasn't considered a fancy dinner.

Castle has one problem....cops and FBI don't have access to any of this fancy stuff.

Actually, two, Beckett lived in Manhattan? No cop has money for that. Not even a detective. Manhattan is very rich or very poor.

Sometimes for girls, just doing a little at-home manicure with nailpolish will do it.

Oh, but I curse. Both of you guys have kids the age that if they hear a curse word once, they latch onto it.

Especially ones that start with a f and end with a k.

The mighty 2010 migration

No one knows what started it.

No one is quite sure how it ended.

But we all stood by, in awed silence, as the mighty herd struggled onward, upward.

There were a few stragglers

And a few who just couldn't go on

Despite encouragement shouted from above.

Others huddled together, lost, confused, perhaps consoling themselves.

But for those few...those determined few...

Victory was sweet indeed.

My speech is not parsing. I am speaking in ellipsis.

Wow!

I rescued about two dozen worms who would have drowned today.
Had to do something while I walked the dog.
Took them out of the rain filled gutter and threw then back onto the highest grass.

:D

The funny behind the funny...When I first moved here, I happened to be walking the dogs and encountered one of these guys. On a plant. About a mile from where we were staying. Coolest thing EVAR! (I'd never seen a terrestrial snail). Dogs and I hustle it back to collect my husband and drag him BACK to the plant, where I proudly point out the snail.

*insert bemused look*

"For a snail? You made me come all the way out here for a SNAIL?"

"But it's HUGE! Have you ever seen one before?? Isn't is amazing?"

Clearly...it was not.

And then, on the walk back...we see the buggers everywhere. Two or three, every foot or so. All the way back, to within about 30 feet of where we were staying, just off the path.

*giggles*

My speech is not parsing. I am speaking in ellipsis.

Yay, kiddos are all falling asleep much better tonight.

Right now on Ver2 there aren't enough nails left to do anything with. So I was trying to think of something I could dip her fingers in or something.
