Razer did replace it, but it was a long process of getting a return authorisation number--at least a week before I could even mail it out to them.

I've had the new one for about a month. I'm a girl and they fit very nicely in my hands (and I have normal girl hands, nothing teeny tiny) It is an absolutely dream after using that crappy 'mighty' mouse.

The red one is super red and gorgeous and it has a nice satiny finish so it doesn't feel like you're gripping plastic all day long.

As for tracking its pretty fast, so fast I've had to turn it down to pretty slow. I have no idea how accurate it is, I didn't feel like adjusting to it so I just made it fit my speed.

At this price I would definitely buy it again!

Out of curiosity, what "mighty mouse" are you referring to?

Have you been eating that sandwich again?

If you have a higher output rechargeable battery it will work fine, typically energizer rechargable batteries output roughly 1.2V when they are fully charged, as they deplete they produce a lower voltage differential i've seen (again with the energizer brand) all the way down to .89V well before the battery was dead

if you compare that with a standard alkaline battery, it starts with a 1.5V differential and will eventually bottom out

the wireless mouses i have used in the past stop working at about .8~.7V which happens much quicker on a battery that starts at 1.2 then 1.5

note i am not taking into account the Ah of the alkaline vs lithium rechargable since i need to go to class

I bought one of these a year ago for $55 at the Apple Store to use with my Macbook and I love it. At this price it's a steal. I'm buying another one to use with my new HP laptop.

After all the comments, bit the bullet in for one. Have received two Razer Salmosa mice from Woot and absolutely love them. Not a hard core gamer and they suit me just fine.

We shall see about this one.

Dang! Out of Black ones, oh well Pink and White it is.

Hopefully this does work on a PS3.

Rechargeable AA's run at 1.2 volts. It'll likely work anyway. Whoops... Just read the thread above where this was fully explained. Ignore this message.

Not necessarily. Cells based on different chemistry have different discharge curves. NiMH and NiCd tend to have much flatter curves than alkaline batteries. An alkaline cell starts at 1.5V, but degrades gradually over its lifetime to a bit over 1.0V before it drops off sharply. A NiMH/NiCd starts at 1.2V and stays there until the end of its life, when it drops off sharply. A 1.2V NiMH will actually have a higher voltage over much of its life than an alkaline would in similar use. If a device *requires* more than 1.2V to operate, an alkaline won't power it very long, but a NiMH will.

On the other hand, alkalines tend to have more overall capacity, so if your device can tolerate the lower voltages the alkaline will last longer.

On the gripping hand, you can recharge NiMH, you usually can't recharge alkaline.

NiMH is also better at maintaining a constant voltage in high current applications, though a wireless mouse isn't in that category. Or at least, it better not be!

Google "battery discharge curve" for far more information than you'll ever want to know. There will be a quiz next period.

quickest way is to check for a blue B(sharp '>' for the B loops) LED, a LED with a B label, or a blue LED usually found near your power, charging,WiFi LED. The harder method is to go into your control panel and look at your hardware to see if there's a bluetooth driver. Or look at the manual

Not so Batman! The 1.2v nominal rechargeable will have a MUCH flatter discharge curve, i.e., it will run along at 1.2v until it is nearly depleted, and then quickly drop off below 0.5, whereas the alkaline battery will just gradually decay down in voltage to near 0v as the charge depletes.

Use the rechargeables; they work fine.
