And on the note of couples showers, people tend to bring the more manly gifts to those, and stuff that the man clearly registered for.

I'm not sure if a margarita maker is very "manly" but it sure will be awesome if(when) I get that!

It's only "manly" if you're using it to mix drywall compound or hammer nails.

In the end only kindness matters

Morning all. It's after 10am and I don't feel the undeniable need to crawl back in bed so that's better than yesterday. Don't misunderstand me, more sleep would be amazing, but the letters aren't spinning on the screen anymore and I might could possibly function at least of a couple hours.

I just had to explain to someone why the sequence of events matters when trying to calculate the elapsed time in between them.

Umm...becuase if event b takes place BEFORE event a, I end up with negative times? And that's like making the universe divide by 0?

My speech is not parsing. I am speaking in ellipsis.

Well...there are imaginary numbers...

Why does anything to the zero power equal 1?

I'm not sure my boss would like it if I told him his report contained imaginary numbers. Engineers tend to be fussy that way...

Might explain the last launch anomoly though.

I'm sure there is some logical explanation to it! Something like 1+2+3=3!

Someone in the family a fireman?
When do you leave and how long will you be gone? Are you taking us with you or will you be unplugged?
Did you tell us daughter was sick?

Poof et al: Yes, Husband is a firefighter!
We are flying to Ft Lauderdale on Wednesday (working a 1/2 day), staying over at parents house, daughter will be with the "Grammie" and "Dampa Dale" hubby and I will be on a small cruise ship for Thursday, Friday, come back Saturday morning and we will all fly home Saturday afternoon! Whirlwind trip! I'm thinking I'm going to be unplugged (against my will) as the laptop does not have wifi and I shudder to think of the costs on the ship!
Kind of a long story with daughter...got the call from the school nurse a week ago Tuesday that she had a fever and a headache. Took her to hospital where they said she had a "virus". Out of school automatically for Wednesday. Things progressively got worse over the next week and finally on Wednesday, her cough was bad enough, I knew she had to go see her regular pediatrician. He checked her out and apparantly has the early stages of PNEUMONIA! Now on a good antibiotic, cleared to fly and yesterday finally started feeling human again!!!!!
