How hard are these to accurately control?

Can anyone confirm the 300 foot range? That seems pretty amazing.

and Red & Gray is $41.83 (2¢ cheaper!) with the same reviews at amazon

Here's the manufacturer's website. All that silly flash will make you find it on there.

I am a big fan of the Woot product test video. Hope Woot will do more of those.

The woot creative team will now crumble weeping in the corner. You really shouldn't ignore the product descriptions. It makes them sad.

Wait, how does the charger work? You need 8 AA batteries "for charging and operation" of what? The charger? The controller? What are you charging?

On a similar vein, how's the battery life and durability of these?

How long does it take to charge? How many minutes of flight do you get?

Love the field test video.

When I was a kid I used to love Airhogs junk. The best thing I can contribute is to beware of the quality. If you think it looks like easily broken cheap foam, you are correct. It'll hold up fine as long as you don't continually crash it, which may or may not be inevitable. Just buyer beware is all. :D

Lmao - Seriously. It's not like it's buried three quarters of the way down the page. There it is, just poking it's little video head up. Right there!

I still think the video would've been cooler with some m-80's attached, but eh... that's just my opinion.

I've bought this on a previous woot, and I'm so far satisfied with the Switchblade.

I'm no pro at RC planes, but this does require zero-wind conditions for it to fly properly (especially for vertical take-offs). If it is gusting, you won't be able to get much control out of the plane at all, and you'll be at the mercy of the wind as it goes into a tree. However, if you're in a field with lots of open space, and there's very little wind, you may be able to fly this thing around and have some fun as I have.

And here's a review and a flight test video for it:

Good luck wooting!

I thought this was a stage coach that split in half for a second. I'm still not exactly sure how this thing flies.

some video here of a big middle-age kid playing with it... the only reason I can figure this is not on the Kids Woot is you probably can hurt someone.....

If you have one, can you tell us something about durability? How well can it take a crash into a tree, for example?

Are the eight AA batteries for the remote?

I'm also concerned about the actual amount of play time that is feasible with a full charge.

Does anyone know how hard it would be to fly these in a light wind?

Ah well, I still appreciate the love. Even if it's not meaty goodness.

Now it's off to charge my glow-in-the-dark flying, screaming, nightlight monkeys so I can find my way back to the can in the middle of the night.

all the videos I have seen so far indicate wind is an issue; guess it would depend how "light" a breeze you are planning on.....

However, they also say they are nearly indestructible, though I think I take that with the proverbial grain of salt...

Still looking for the meaning of "limited" in the Woot 90 day "limited" warranty.

Got one last time on woot. Much more difficult to fly than the video suggests. Also, I was surprised how dangerous the props are for a little toy plane. Have to really take care if there are lot of kids running around cause these will draw blood. Aim carefully and good hunting.

These are terrible people, bought 2 for christmas this last year and they both went back the day after.

I have no idea how air hogs gets away with their promo video of this. The take off is somewhat realistic, but after the blade makes the switch these things do NOT fly around as advertised.

Although the 20.00 price tag makes these look like a steal. I wouldnt buy them even if they were 5.00.

Save your money folks.

got one last woot around and have been moderately happy with it. It can't fly well in a breeze. It's tough to control and thus crashes alot. But when it does fly well it's fun.
For the price it's a good deal. Don't expect to be able to control it well during flight.

Returned to Target after two unsuccessful attempts. Even if you can get it to stay in the air you need LOTS of space.

The 8 AA batteries go into the remote, which in turn has a cord that plugs into the plane.

I bought one of these when they were 28 bucks, its ok. Directions say not to use rechargeable batteries in the remote. Because I did use rechargeable batteries, flight time seems about 15 to 20 minutes.

I'd buy one if it came with the guy to climb the tree and get it down for me. No such luck though.

Awesome Video, I learned the following....

You need a Chain Saw for the Trees in The Lot

You need to keep the Help Wanted Ads Posted on the woot web page.

Thank your for some quality informational video

We have an 8 yr old son, and I can tell you all of the air hogs he has gotten from B-days & xmas gifts...not a SINGLE one has lasted more than 2 days!!!! NOT ONE!!! Total waste of $ for a day of fun (half the time you're pulling them out of trees, and off the roof and out of the pool and everywhere else!) You have to be in a TOTALLY open area, with no people around, to have successful flying.

Can you buy two of these and fly them at the same time (different frequencies)?
