You bought it with the power supply and video card for $529 or you bought it for that and installed the hardware later?

If you got all that for $529, I want to know where THAT deal is!

Most definitely...only thing is I bought this PC at microcenter, and after an upgraded power supply AND ATI 4650 512mb card was added it was just a shade over $500.00. The PC itself was $369, this ain't a great deal.

that doesn't even make sense. Windows doesn't "support" office in any meaningful sense. You can run any version of Office on any version of Windows.

good comp for the money, but not really up to snuff for gaming, weak power supply, needs better graphics processing, at least a 9800 series card, faster hard drives as well...good for surfing the net, pics, and music thou

How good is this system in performing MS office apps (PP, spreadsheets, Word), photo editing and storage, and the range of internet functions? (I'm not a gamer).
Thanks?

The PCI-E x16 slots are not 2.0 slots.
Video card upgrade is limited.

http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/hp-pavilion-p6320y/4507-3118_7-33968314.html?tag=mncolBtm;rnav

Edit:
Windows 7 is backwards compatible with older versions of office.
I currently still use office 2003 with no problems in Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

Also, the power supply will be fine with no other upgrades.
However, adding anything to this machine will definitely call for an upgrade in power supply.

Wow, it sure looks like they have a lot of these. I'm kind of surprised.

If it had a real power supply I'd snap this up. But having to upgrade that and the video card in order to have two DVI ports doesn't make this much of a savings.

Plays a sound near the end of a product.
Plays a sound when there is a new product.

Auto-refreshes.

I picked one up. This will be a great upgrade for an old Win2K PC. I will put in a different PS and add another video card (need 3 monitors). Should be able to run everything I am now without slowing down! This is for a Presentation PC, running powerpoints and EZWorship software for worship services. I will take out the wireless card, don't need the operators distracted with something on the web when the need to pay attention to what is going on during the service.

Okay I'm about a second away from pulling the trigger on this for my dad until I read concerns about the power supply. I know about computers but I'm not a hardware expert. What does this lower power supply mean? I want to get this for my dad who will probably do NOTHING other than web browsing, office work, and photo/video viewing. He's not going to play games or do anything above and beyond the call of duty (no pun intended.) Will this power supply end up biting me in the ass? I really don't feel like buying this only to rip it open and spend more money to get a bigger power supply in it.

bah on the weak power supply. It only is weak if you intend to put a new graphics card in it. And they are talking 150W plus cards for gaming, not what you are doing. This computer would be well overpowered for your needs. You can buy this, or get a sufficient for you laptop for the same price (search slickdeals.net).

This has an AM3 socket, so any AM3 CPU SHOULD work. The issue comes down to the BIOS. Some computers require a flash (upgrade) of the BIOS to use new CPUs. So it's all up to HP if they want to release a BIOS upgrade to enable 6 cores or not. But electrically it's compatible...

Not at all the only reason you need a bigger power supply is if you upgrade the graphics I have one and it is real fast but the power supply is only to upgrade for games

You will be fine buying this for your dad. If you want to open the box, plug it in, and go, with no high end gaming or anything like that, you will probably love this system. The lower power supply means it can't handle additional upgrades, such as a better video card, processor, stuff like that. But from what you described your pops using it for, it will be just what you are looking for at a great price. Enjoy!

When life gives you lemons, I just say "f**k the lemons," and bail.

I am an Intel fanatic and have been building Intel based systems for years but let me say this...
I just built 2 phenom II x4 quads for my kids and they are screamers. A good video card helps too. So, Intel is great but some of the AMD's are excellent too.
