Seems like a decent deal. First time I've purchased cables from anyone other than monoprice so hopefully these are near the same quality.....

TheWhistleGoesWooWoo wrote:Once thing to note is that it is a "HDMI Version 1.3b". 1.3c version exist but from what I can understand, the difference is not all that big.

The "b" indicates that it has the 19 pin connector that most players and monitors use. The "c" type would be smaller, such as you find on mobile devices.

bsmith1 wrote:You'll probably need HDMI 1.4 if you have a 3D TV!

The 1.3 specification includes signals operating at 340MHz, which will support the 3D monitors coming out now. However, you'd want to make sure and get a CAT-2 cable, which this likely is since it's labled 1080p. You will need a 1.4 cable if your 3D monitor also supports the new ethernet over HDMI.

bsmith1 wrote:It'll work fine with a 720p TV. Probably won't noticeably improve the quality if you are already using some other HDMI cable.

You shouldn't notice any difference if your monitor is 720p and you switch from a CAT-1 cable to a CAT-2 cable unless your cable is over 5 meters long.

For those of you paying tons of money for "better" cables from best buy or wherever, HDMI is a digital signal. Unless you're getting anywhere near the max spec length of cable, even "crappy" quality cables will work noticeably the same. You def won't notice the diff between copper and gold.

Maybe your cat-5. You'd better not put them next to each other in the same room.

This is a good deal for those who don't already have a HDTV (like myself) but aspire to have one in every room to replace their older tube-type TVs.

Got my order in for three just under the wire . . er, cable.

Thanks, Woot!

ircmaxell wrote:Does it even make a difference? I thought Wii content was relatively low definition anyway?

Wii does not have an HDMI port. You'd have to buy an adapter. So what would be the point other than to use a HD connection on the back of your TV for a SD signal.

No, mine worked perfectly for ...uh, spreadsheets. Have you tried contacting T-Rex for troubleshooting/replacement? You have a 10 year warranty with them and can contact them here.

I also bought 2, 1 works and 1 was broken. On the broken one, I can vaguely see an "HDCP" error message on the TV screen.

My wife moved the furniture in our room around again. The 10 foot hdmi cable from the computer to the tv was 6 inches too short.............opened up my TRex 12 hdmi cable and life is good again.
