Food in the garage with the door cracked open.

Still no cat. Because I opened a window and walked out of the room.

Aw, sorry Dname. With cats, there's still a lot of hope though.

true. I have had them run off for several days, then show up hungry.

Cats are usually good at finding home, once they want too.

It was just a bad month with work schedules for both of us. We could just never make it happen.

I guess no matter what others go through it always seems worse when it is you going through it. I always took comfort in the fact that others had faced adversity due to long distance relationships and made it work. When I was sitting in the US Embassy in Montreal for the final interview with the consulate and o.k. to move to the US ( I mean everything depended on the 5 minute interview) and marry Mrs. Ice I was with about 300 others in that room who had gone through exactly what I had. I took strange comfort in that.

Because it is a cat.
Odds are it didn't wander too far and will be back.

Wasn't Scratchy at outdoor cat with his previous owners? He'll probably be fine and be back in a day or two. Ex had a cat gone for quite a few days. She came back covered in grease from sleeping under cars and pregnant.

Just a thought but call the vets around you and ask them to be on the lookout incase someone brings him in. You can give them your flyer as well.

Also call the animal control for your area in case he gets picked up or brought in.

WOOT! THE CAT HAS RETURNED! WENT OUT WITH HIS FOOD AND SHOOK IT. HEARD A BELL. RUSTY RAN TO THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE AND THERE WAS THE CAT. 3 FEET FROM THE WINDOW HE ESCAPED FROM!!!

Put some flea and tic stuff on him and fed him. He is now ignoring us!
At least if he gets out again, we know he can find the house.

Of course, he could have come back before we made, paid for and distributed 200 fliers
Now I get to spend tomorrow taking down over 100 fliers.

Glad the bell didn't fall off. He know damn well how to walk and not make it make a sound, but he had it making noise.
Now he is meowing. I don't know why.

It seems that is part of the chip thing in his neck. I called them to make sure it was still paid for and working. Thank goodness the vet had the #.
They said that they would notify vets in something like a 20 mile (i forget what they actually said, but way further than a cat would go, I read 5 miles is considered far ) radius.
The town gave me the phone # for the next town. Our town doesn't have a cat shelter, but the next one does.

Actually the town 311 number connected me to someone with a lot of advice on what to do.

I hope he doesn't have flees. I put the tick stuff on, so any tick would die or fall off before he could get lymes. I think that takes 48 hours.

Flip him over on a white towel, and pet his tummy fur the wrong way. Fleas will hop off and you can see them easily, treat.

Glad he came back! I worry about my cats, do my best not to let them outside.

After a jog? umm ok.

Of all the things I miss by having kids, the mattress in the living room and living from that spot is one of the biggest. Orc and I were both excited when that was the favorite memory in the movie version of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button which we finally got around to watching. It's not really anything like the short story at all.
