Great! Woot has enough bags of crap to send to the jerks at Shmoocon but they don't have enough to fill my order for one last April 1st. I got through and it went to processing for over 30 minutes and then came back and said sorry all sold out. But the Shmooconiancs get the Bowl of Cereal and don't even appreciate it.

Fun to see Shannon and Darren from Hak5 there. Can't wait to see what they use in the Bowl of Cereal to use in their next project. They've already used pineapples and rubber duckies.

I shot some of that video on my flip HD sitting up as a podcaster.. lol, the flying helo portion for sure.

The center picture was probably Bruce Potter, founder of The Shmoo Group and the ShmooCon.

And, for what it's worth, most of the bits shown in the video happened after the day's talks had shut down -- these were contests and games happening off-hours. And remember also that we were snowed in during the worst storm in 30 years, so there was bound to be a bit of odd behavior.

I didn't even know they were giving stuff out during these contests. But at the closing ceremonies, a few other "official" contests had woot gear (bags of crap and other such stuff) as prizes, and the crowd was very appreciative.

I'm the guy from PaulDotCom Security Weekly ready to eat canned bacon in the video. No idea where the video of me eating it went.

I will say, I guess I got luck on 3 counts: I got a Bag O Crap, I got stuff I can actually use in said Bag O Crap, and I got to eat tasty, tasty bacon.

Canned or not, the bacon was pretty good. I know I'll be eating bacon for years after the zombie apocalypse.

Why the hell didn't I know about baconnaise.

If you're annoyed, you shouldn't be.

The stuff flying about early in the video is a standard Shmoocon thing. They hand out foam balls (called ShmooBalls) that you're encouraged to throw at a speaker if you think they're full of it. One of the fun events of the conference is the folks trying to engineer automatic weapon grade ShmooBall launchers. Compressed air, leafblowers, etc.. At the end of the Con Bruce Potter gets pelted with lots of balls.

As far as the Woot! stuff, the BOCs were very gratefully received. (There were some truly cr*ppy prizes after the Woot! stuff.)

The "I came all this way and all I got was a bag of cr*p" comment is tongue in cheek. I thought it was pretty funny, myself.

Please, Woot. Do this again!
