Hello. Back from the festival. Poured down rain while we were there, but we were in the gambling tent, so no problem. 2 1/2 hours and I broke even on blackjack. //pats self on back//

Congrats! I like blackjack, don't get to play much.

Survived book shopping. Local book store didn't have much in the early chapter book stuff, so we ended up at Hastings and I found one of the books I'd picked out at the local store and still ended up with 5 books to give her. Ver1 also found a couple books, One fantasy series which we'll get her later and she got one of the Magic Tree House books, because apparently she can read it. I'm still a bit skeptical, but oh well, maybe it'll be motivation.

I believe earlier today I mentioned we were going if the weather wasn't so yucky. Hopefully will be going again tomorrow evening for more blackjack (translation: usually a church donation). Then Sunday //shudder//, we'll be taking three grandkids in the afternoon for rides and pick-up-ducks and snow cones and whatnot. It's supposed to be 88, but the humidity's supposed to be low. It better be or I won't make it.

A couple years ago (about age 7) granddaughter liked a series about fairies. In fact, one of them had the same name as her.

I hope it cools down for all of us. It was brutal here with it being 90 this afternoon and when we got in the car at the bookstore it said 103!!!!(outside temp) It was down to 94 by the time we got home, but that parking lot was scorching, and I was even in a "shady" spot.

Congrats on breaking even. I am terrible at blackjack. I play a ton of poker, but I've never done well with blackjack.

HELLO!!!!!!

Just got home from the movies with the nephew.

Went to see Despicable Me and it was PURE AWESOMENESS!!!! I LAUGHED AND LAUGHED AND LAUGHED!!!!

And it is actually worth the extra cost for the 3D version. The effects were GREAT!

We may go see it again.

Classic moment: Gru is walking into the Bank of Evil. In small letters below Bank of Evil it says "Formerly Lehman Brothers" LOL!

It wasn't necessary, and the movie would have been funny without it. BUT - the effects were at least noticeable and fun. And the entire movie theater laughed out loud the entire movie, so the reviewer for the paper must be a boring stick-in-the-mud.
