Had it for a couple months now. I haven't seen it be able to save me time by detouring yet so I'm still holding out an opinion. Then again, I don't drive regularly in areas where there's a lot of traffic.

Had a very nice dinner with AzSon. My son asked lots of questions and AzSon patiently answered them all. You have raised a good man there.

Oh, I sent him home with lots of pizza.

Not at all. It was very interesting listening to what he's doing and how he wants to apply it. He's a motivated guy.

Griff is feeling very good about it now. He got a lot of questions answered with meeting with his admissions counselor and Tyler.

His dad isn't here so he's still not completely supportive but not saying no, either. I guess that's about all we can hope for.

Okay, I take back what I said about no more bags of crap on Woot's birthday. If they're going to send me $10 worth of Woot coupons, then it's worth my $8 lights.

Well, another day has passed and I didn't use algebra once.

Get him through his first year or so, and have him apply for a fed loan; Tyler did that; he's now invested in his own success.

That's a possibility for his dad's half. I've got some put away for son's college. Not sure how far that will go but we'll see.

I love ours. It does work well, especially in urban environments. I've got one that is a Garmin that is good at plotting around bad traffic jams. The weird thing is that the difference between traffic and nontraffic variants of the same GPS (Like Garmin's Nuvi 1350 and 1350T with lifetime traffic) is the cord that does the traffic. IE- some of the units allow you to save money by buying the regular version, and getting the traffic cord later.

Hi folks! It's Mr. SkekTek apparently posting as Mrs. Tek. Oops.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of the Garmin 1450, but didn't know if the 1450T would be better.

YES! Plane landed at 6:16 AM, drove home, hugged the wife and kids, took a shower, went to work and taught a partially incoherent and sleep-deprived class, then went back home and crashed for 2 hours. Still not 100% but since I spent 12 hours on planes/airports, can't complain I guess.

The traffic is pretty neat, but it's not totally necessary. The newer ones do a better job of adapting to upcoming traffic. The 1350T is fair at that.
