New washer gets delivered today. The laundry has really been piling up.

It's because for half an hour last night it rained at a rate of 5 inches an hour! Some places had so many cats and dogs that people were stepping in poodles everywhere! Part of the beltway was shut down due to giant poodles!

And also the news likes to get all hyped up over uncontrollable things like that...

Good morning everyone. They say no rain today but it's getting hot again.

mornin kidds...ended up getting today off since I realized that I hafta work Friday. Got someone on vacation and the 2 other ladies workin that day are preg so I gotta be there in case we need to do xrays or gas anesthesia. yippee!!

hoping today goes a little better than yesterday.

was supposed to meet wife and friends in city for dinner. just before I leave the office, I get a call from wife - she blew a tire on the car trying to parallel park against a high curb in another part of city. So, I ask if I should drive to where she is, or go to restaurant and wait. She says she already called roadside assistance guy, so I should go to restaurant to get our name on the list.

so, while I'm waiting in restaurant lobby, tow guy takes over half an hour to get to wife. another hour to get the spare tire unstuck from car. five minutes to make the swap once it was free, another twenty minutes to put the paperwork and billing in order so insurance will reimburse.

over two hours sitting there, getting hungrier and hungrier since I had a small lunch and it was getting late. watched parties arrive, eat, and leave while I continued to sit and wait. would have left the restaurant to go help them, but the car was already valet parked, and every time I called to get an update, they thought it would just be a few more minutes until they were on the road again.

sigh.

and then I get to work this morning to find that a program bug I thought I fixed yesterday was acting up again.

just seems to be one of those weeks...
