Good morning everyone.
I see a nap in my future today, too.

I will try--expect tonight will be about the same, tomorrow should be better.

Much better.

Mornin'; at home; killer headache last night; I think it's the heat/dehydration; drinking water.

Morning all!

d'name - I think it is possible to get over the Hudson. At least it used to be several years ago when I did it once. Google says you still can as well, just have to be willing to drive across Manhattan. So, tolls it is then.

cruzer - congrats on the new washer. from everything I've read, you really do need the HE detergents for front loaders. something to do with how it doesn't suds as much, and rinses away with less water.

Hi Turken!

I watched about the first ten minutes of the load I did last night (this was before I was told not to use the detergent we have) and it does use a lot less water but it also takes much longer. It'll be interesting to see how long the motor lasts. The thing switches directions every 3 rotations, just about.

We got the washer late last night. I tried to do some laundry but was shot down because we don't have the right detergent. WTF?

Front loader? Don't you shop? Didn't you see the different soap?

//better remember to tell son to make sure to buy the right stuff.

so what kind of washer did you end up with anyway? the best part of watching is when it hits the high spin cycle. Amazing it can move so fast and yet still be so quiet and smooth.

Does it smell?
When Poof was researching washers, she found out they smell like mildew because the washer never completely empties.

//sigh

Nobody around?

Can't find my newspaper.
Don't know if it never came, or someone took it in and misplaced it.
Either way it is unsettling not to page through it.
Now....dog park?
Walk?
Just take the dog and go for coffee?

Or vacuum the house and prove that hubby does housework because of ocd and not because it needs it.

we always leave the door (and detergent tray) open until things dry out, and haven't had any smell issues yet.

Every sunday, he does housework.
Now, his standards are higher than mine, that is a given.
But I have experimented and cleaned the entire house on Friday.
Also the laundry.
I'm not bad with that.
On friday I do all of it. Everything. There is nothing in the house that hasn't been washed.

Yet on Sunday, he does at least two loads. Of what? I don't know.
Then again, he will run a load of wash with only two or three things in it.

So, this week, I have dusted, straightened out and vacuumed all the places he usually does.

I guarantee, that he will still spend sunday doing the lawn and the housework.

I move furniture when I vacuum. He doesn't.

Somehow son keeps adding weeks onto what the doctor said about staying on his foot. He is doing all day to day stuff, without the boot on. But he can't mow? We aren't talking acres here.

This is an interesting experiment.
I have to say, on Sundays I usually clean like a meth addict (if I'm not drowning in homework). It kinda helps me not think about the fact that the weekend is drawing to an end.

At least he ain't lazy!

Oh PWA.
I am having a neurotic episode.
I had to request another refill for my jaw painkillers.
If it looked like the surgery would be happening soon, I wouldn't.
But the doc is going out of town during the last week of July, and it appears that my surgery won't be until mid-August.
I'm in agony.

I just hate requesting refills for narcotics. I feel like they think I'm Courtney Love or something.

No lazy was never a problem.
Since he will do it if it is clean, or dirty, I figure it might as well be dirty.

Then they were right

If wet clothes are left in accidentaly for a while and an odor develops, Tide makes some stuff to get the stank out.

Our washer door won't stay open "just a little." We keep a tennis ball between the door and keep the dispenser open. We've had no problems.

Why does it need to be "just a little?"

I'm guessing you don't have an entire room dedicated to the washer and dryer like we do. We can leave ours wide open all the time if we need to.

Hot. Concerned about her but she insisted she was all right. Of course, when I got her home, she plopped in the nearest chair. Still insisting she's all right. Had the a/c set on high and the 40s radio station on in the car for her. And SHE asked ME who was famous for singing "Rags to Riches." Jeez, I don't know.

Ours is in the basement. And I don't know why we don't leave it wide open. Does it stay open by itself?
