Mom day today

Rusty wanted to go to the school yard. Nobody around. I let him off the leash and he chased some birds. Birds took off and he found a squirrel .
He caught it. Dropped it. Caught it. Dropped it.
Every time he dropped it , the squirrel got a little further away.
I got to them just as he dropped it again and the squirrel got under the fence.

No blood on Rusty. Didn't see any the squirrel.
Did tire him out.

So, now he has caught a bunny and a squirrel. Ferrel cat is next. There will be blood with that one, those cats don't mess around!

I'm really surprised he caught a squirrel.

He caught the bunny at night and I couldn't really see what happened.
Just hop hop hop, stop squeal, hop hop hop gone through the hole in the sump fence.
That hole was big enough for Rusty to follow.
No blood on him that time either, so the bunny got away unhurt, I hope.

Now, if he get one of those ferrel cats ..... they don't mess around. They will make him bleed.

So, he is some sort of hunting dog that has a "soft mouth"
Aren't retrievers breed to bring shot animals, like ducks, back to the hunter? Without holes in the body from the teeth?
He is mostly golden retriever. Maybe not Shepard, they bite hard.

geez, I can finally tell how slow woot is now that I have a better internet connection. It was kind of bad before, now it's terrible. Although it seems to be a bit better this morning compared to last night.

Anyway...second day on the job (I've already done the work assigned yesterday, boss is out today...weird to be left completely unsupervised on my first and second day of work). Thus far, biggest challenge will be keeping busy.

Job is fine. Hoping it will pick up in terms of things for me to do--I expect this to be the case, anyway. Currently have a small list of 'should I work on this, even though I wasn't told to do so'. Boss is nice, very busy, knows lots more than I do (always a good thing). The work--my end is about the same here as anywhere else. Getting to see some cool production stuff, though!

Sounds wonderful! I'm glad it is working for you.

My first job out of college was at home, they didn't have office space. It took a bit to get used to. I went in they showed me something they wanted accomplished (sometimes only a rough idea) and then gave me whatever raw materials I needed and told me to report in when it was done or in a month. There was one year where I never heard from anyone. I was deep in a complex project and had plenty to do. Eventually a whole year passed and I realized I hadn't heard from my boss at all. Crazy stuff.

Yes, to all of the above...when I see them. My office is kind of off to the side, so people have to have a reason to come through here, and right now...no one does. But that's ok, and a couple people have come over just to say hi, so that's good. Everyone is very nice.

Just don't ask me to name everyone--I think of the people I met yesterday, I retained names for maybe half. Yikes!

Yeah, not worried, just wish I were able to remember names more readily.

The biggest hassle? Address changes. Forwarding issues all over the place--things are being forwarded around and around. Sigh. I'm not sure I'll ever get a few things, hope I can get my money back.

Finally found Ver1's kindergarten list on the school website. The local stores don't have it. Not too much to go get. I was getting worried after looking at some of the other lists.

So now all the moms show up!!!

I got mine at Staples and I'm pretty happy with it. Advice: Get a big, comfy one if you're going to be spending a lot of time in it. Don't "make do," your back will thank you.

I'm planning on spending a very large amount of time in it. Sounds like pretty solid advice.
