There are a lot of shady fashion watch makers out there - and this isn't one of them. Invicta is just fine.

Water RESISTANT to 200 meters. However that seems just plain silly. Who would make a watch water RESISTANT to 20 ATM instead of WATERPROOF. I suspect that it would be OK to dive with (i.e waterproof) for recreational dives at the very least...

keeping in mind, water resistance meters are like speaker watts.

When they say 200 meters they mean you can wear it while swimming, maybe even while surfing, potentially even while water-skiing. But it's not suitable for diving.

Large case watches are very popular these days. I have several in this size range and don't find them to be unusually large, but 52mm is just over 2", which includes the crown cover. (The sticky-out bit on the side) That size may be a deal breaker for some people, depending on your wrist size and your comfort level with wearing a "noticeable" watch. You certainly don't want to look like the watch is wearing you...

I've had very good luck with Invicta and own at least a half dozen. I don't care at all for watches which feel cheap or loose, and all my Invictas feel substantial and well made. I'm going to wait until morning, but if they're still taunting me, I'll be sorely tempted...

The yellow box that the watch comes in is a very attractive box. I don't wear watches and I don't know why anybody does. But, I would really consider this just for that very cool box. You don't see boxes like that everyday. And if you did, one would wonder what sort of life you lead.

when the watch battery dies does it need to be sent out to keep the warranty like fossil watches or can anyone replace the battery?

if this is on your left wrist and you decide to bust out some push-ups or something won't the cap dig into the back of your hand? that's always what's kept me from getting one of these...

Invicta watches are quite good. My biggest hearburn with them is the degree of difficulty in adjusting their metal watch bands. Not a factor with this watch. This one is still too darn big for my wrist, though. On me it would like a Flava Flave starter kit.

This is a watch that is clearly designed, and is probably a great deal for "oversized people". There were a couple of old Twilight Zone episodes where the people/aliens would be the perfect size for one of these babies. Unfortanately those are probably the last folks who would wear a watch anyway but they didn't have woot back then so it is a moot point. Get it! Moot, not Woot. Sometimes I just crack myself up. I know one thing. If I bought this thing it would make me look like a cartoon charcter. However, living just a mile from Warner Bros. maybe they are looking for another looney tune.

I'm pretty sure that's a myth, wrt Fossil voiding your warranty if anyone else changes the battery.

From a legal standpoint, they'd have a hard time arguing in court - say, a class action suit - that service by reasonably qualified technicians should void the warranty.

Car makers can't make that claim, for example.

I think this would be better suited for my wall than my wrist.

Well, I guess I'm your first. I bought an Invicta 3915 watch off Woot just over two years ago. It was great for a year and a half, but I took it swimming and it got water inside (should have been water resistant to 100M, but didn't make it to 5 ft.). It was out of warranty, but my Visa card paid the $57 repair charge on a free warranty extension, and I paid $24 shipping. That's $81 to repair a watch I got for $90. They told me it would take 4 weeks to repair.

In fact, it took just shy of 4 months to get it back. The real kicker is that my stopwatch now resets to 6 min. instead of 0 min. like it used to. But I don't want to wait another 4 months to get it repaired again, so I decided to just keep it.

Hopefully other people's experience with Invicta's service has been better than mine.

My dear god that watch is huge in those pictures. I have a TINY thin wrist, but I'm still considering this watch for a collectors sake.

I replaced on an Inicta I got from Woot couple years ago. bought a watch wrench from Amazon for about $15 which you use to remove the back. replace the battery you can get from Walgreens or CVS. Watch worked fine then, still does. That's why I'm buying this one.

The best price I have found so for for this kitchen clock for your wrist is $169. This is a true bargain. While I'm not buying one so as to avoid divorce proceedings due to my already overpopulated watch collection, it is a cool and studly watch. Thankfully it is waterproof to 20 atm (200ft) so it will withstand my drooling to own one.

I don't think that is a real wrist...it was scaled down to enhance the maleness of the watch, and who doesn't want their maleness enhanced?

I wouldn't recommend a leather band, especially if it's salt water fishing. Try ewatches.com or jomadeals.com for a watch with a rubber or stainless steel band. Their sale items are often comparable to this price. I got several Seiko automatics for under $60 apiece during their sales.

Maybe you could solder a loop on the top of the case and wear it around your neck.

If you look in the instruction book or on their web site, there is a simple way of adjusting where the stopwatch is set. They make it that way on purpose.

If you have OCD get a Rolex or Patek Phillippe. Everything WILL line up perfectly and it will last long enough and hold value enough to will it to your children.

I have an Invicta 4702 watch, which cost me around $1,000 or so in 2007. Pretty high price watch for this brand, but it has a ETA 2893 movt and gmt 500m. Still works great now, and I totally love it when swimming&surfing
