Last night I loaded up some songs on this 8GB iTouch.

I have no apps loaded and it only let me load 838 songs, no videos, and all legit from itunes. I thought it was suppose to hold like 1,500 songs.

Did I do something wrong? Anyone else having this storage problem?

Website doesn't show the one I ordered as being shipped yet, I hope that's just an issue with the status being updated, but as long as I get it by my son's birthday party on the 15th, I guess I'm fine with it.

What OS version are these shipping with?

Can someone check ans see what generation is their itouch. I was shipped an 2nd Generation. I though we order the Current Generation ( which is 3rd).

I can. The 8GB didn't get a 3rd gen release. That was a bit of sour Apple as they call it "current" or 2G/3G release.

Anyone know if it's worth updating to OS4?

Depends on if you plan on Jailbreaking it. There isn't a reliable 4.0 jailbreak yet but probably will be one soon I'm sure. I believe that will allow the 8gb vs to do the multitasking the 32/64 got w/ the 4.0 upgrade.

(fyi, jailbreaking does invalidate your warranty)

It may have to do with the size of the songs. Also, did you upgrade to IOS 4? When my brother did it to his, it knocked him down to a little over 6 GB of storage.

Thanks! My initial plan was to jailbreak but instead decided to load it up with all the apps I could get my hands on and now fiddle with it daily. I will probably keep it in "legit" mode for now and jailbreak later. Besides, jailbreaking has lots of links and not sure which is the best option.

My brother updated his the day OS4 came out, and he's had nothing but annoying problems. After the upgrade he only got a little over 6 GB of storage and the 8GB version doesn't support multitasking. That's the only reason he upgraded was to get that and was VERY disappointed afterward.

When I plug my itouch to my Macbook 10.6. The itouch only shows that it is charging. It will not show up on my desktop or in Itunes.

I have tried pluging in while itunes is opened and when it is not open. It just shows that is charging.

Hmm, you got me then. I'm not too familiar with Mac's. I know my brother has to plug his in then open up Itunes before Itunes will pick it up now. He's thinking it could be due to IOS4.

Woot your great, but Fedex you suck. My Ipod was shipped out on the 26th from New Jersey. It got up to the fedex building in Madison (my home town) and then it shows that the Ipod got moved to Chicago. After Chicago it go moved to Milwaukee, then after that it got sent back to Madison. I just want my IPod!!! I literally live three blocks away from the Fedex building so this is just a joke.

That's hilarious. I checked on mine and it said the barcode was unreadable and replaced !!! I wonder where it's going now ???

The time difference is actually reflected with when your card got charged. Depending on your bank cardm they many have had the order on hold. Woot does not ship any products until they fully receive the money. This means that if your card for charged couple days later then you will receive the product at a later day. I ran into this problem with previous orders so I decided to contact a representative of woot and this is the anwser I got.

Knowing the dumb people of Fedex its going back to NJ to get a new barcode. If thats the case I feel really bad for you.

Yeah! I went to check mine a few minutes ago and it say "unable to process request" or something like that. Woot says its shipped but now Fedex says its not! WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!?!? I JUST WANT MA IPOD TOUCH! D:

I've bought from WOOT 8 or 10 times. This is the 1st time it didn't show shp'g from Texas. If this is going to be the norm, shp'g from "vendors", I may reconsider hence forth. All my previous orders no matter how non fragile were in a real box. Now, from what's posted, they are shipping a somewhat delicate electronc item in a poofy bag. We all know how gentle shippers are now days. Nuff said

My Fedex status: still stuck in KEASBEY, NJ. My credit card got charger 134.99 on July 25 and product is still stuck on the other coast. BS! Never Ever Buying from WOOT!

I live 6 hours from where the item is shipping and my estimated time for it to get here is August 2. Not cool.
