As several people have pointed out this will have no problem playing Blu-Ray. This is because the video is decoded on the gpu so there is minimal cpu utilization.

As to the size of the screen, that doesn't matter, it's the resolution that matters. Once it's decoded it's done. You could hook it up to a 100" TV with the same performance.

Luck of the draw ;) Now...I also think it has something to do with the users. If they are the people who tend to place them in a spot with no ventilation, then yeah they will die quicker. I have never personally bought a HP laptop. I like Acer...I know I know...but I just do. Not for gaming of course. I go desktop for games, but anyway...I think people could be blamed for some of it.

Now...HP Printers...are #1 for sure! I LOVE HP printers...lol.

WOW thanks for the multiple replies on this laptop's ability to play bluray (or equiv) w/o jumping etc. I'm still not in at this price, but it is great to get that feedback. Guess I am out of date with my negative opinion on a lack of dedicated graphics.

I'd still rather wait for dedicated 512 or more though.

As for wooting at work...I do it too but again my attention has waned. I actually brought my woot lights to work, but when I turn them on my coworkers look at me like I'm crazy.

Another crappy refurb HP? Isn't the 5 minute buy time on the first one a pretty good indication that nobody wants these?

I think some of the items are a lot better than usual, but theres too many items that are just stalling out for an hour or more. Which is also the only way I'm getting work done these past 3 days.

I agree this has been a far better Woot-Off than anything in the past year as far as selection and pricing in general goes.

Of course there are some items I think are overpriced, but I always do every Woot-Off.

No matter what item is up, people are going to complain. After ever Woot-Off people complain it was the worst Woot-Off ever.

Hell even on the Baggie of Cthulhu you get people complaining they've been trying "for years" to get one and never do and how they will never shop on Woot again.
