Shipped FedEx SmartPost, Shipping weight recorded as 2.1 lbs

iPod Nano lanyard headphones
Sylvania Music Sharing kit
Gold's Gym Bag
Opened Redi-Check Wireless BBQ Thermometer (haven't tested yet)
Unopened Bushnell Onyx 350 handheld GPS

Very nice... I thought about trying my coupon on the Baggie of Cthulhu but felt I could use the extra seconds it would take to do it... Good job on pulling that one off.

So am I correct in assuming that no one got a decent Baggie of Cthulhu this time round? Wine bags, Barbie junk and lanyards...

This is what woot's infamous Baggie of Cthulhu has become.

Good riddance. This is my First and Last Baggie of Cthulhu. Don't know why I even wasted my time.

Yeah you're right Sherlock. Receiving $15 to $50 worth of stuff for 8 bucks is a bad deal.
Stay away in the future. It'll make it that much easier for the rest of us.

EDIT: I find it fascinating that Woot's filter is so sensitive that you can't say D@gon without it thinking you are being mean to Italians! lol

well some people that play bingo win money too, but the old hags that dont get bingo never say "im not playing this stupid game again" they are all back next week.

everyone wants the bag with the best crap sadly not everyone can have it. as stated above these only cost $3 the shipping is $5 and if you look up retail you will see these are worth over $3. anyone that is complaining i want you to go out somewhere else and buy just one of these items from another place and after tax and shipping tell me how much less than $8 it was.

Here's my craptastic haul. FWIW, my package was 4 pounds and 11" x 11" x 11".

1 - Amcor Active Air Aroma Remedies
1 - EZ-Shopper 18" tote
1 - iPod Nano Lanyard Headphones
1 - Sylvania 3-in-1 music sharing kit

My wife is stoked for the air aroma remedies thingy (and has decreed that we will start using it ASAP), and is quite happy that we didn't get any HSM clocks or Winnie the Pooh toothbrush holders this time.

A friendly reminder for those expecting three TV's, two iPads, and a key to Fort Knox in their Beautiful Ocean Cabana...

There were 2956 BOCs sold.

Most of them have crap. Like 99%+

If 5 of them have letters promising a later shipment, that's still 99.83% crap.

So, if you're waiting for a Baggie of Cthulhu, it will probably have crap.

Now, you can complain that there isn't as much random junk in the BOCs, and that's a fair complaint. Looking at all of the lists of received items, there certainly seems to be somewhat of a narrow range of crappy items in the boxes (Barbie, iPod lanyards, old calendars, etc). But to you, the receiver, it's still gloriously new crap!

There are children starving in some third-world country that would love a Bag O' Crap!

(Actually, they'd probably want food instead, but I digress...)

You pays yer money, you takes yer chances. And in the end, if you don't like it, you can probably give it away to someone who will be glad to have it for a few seconds. So go out there! Hand out your unwanted crap! Make some friends!

(New peace plan- send 1000 BOCs to Israel and Palestine. Let them swap amongst themselves. PEACE ACHEIVED!)

Let me stress the fact that I am not complaining about the value of the contents of this round of craps, I am simply voicing disappointment with its collective lack of randomness.

We all know that most don't usually receive the TVs, DVD players, video game systems, etc. and that the real fun and excitement is in anxiously awaiting to see what you could possibly get, while seeing the variety of goodies that everyone else is getting. However, this fun and excitement is greatly diminished when everyone is getting the exact same thing.

In fact, this round of craps reminds me of the 03/27/09 round when most everyone (including myself) received the same 3 DVDs (Blades of Glory, Superbad and Team America), Brother in Arms action figures, and cheap hand-held games.

Again, my disappointment isn't with the value of the contents of these craps, its with the fact that everyone thus far has received exactly the same thing.

But by the same token, I did receive subsequent craps, after that one mentioned above, that were much better and much more random. I just hope that trend continues and future rounds of craps are more rewarding and entertaining.

I actually agreed with you on the randomness thing. It is more fun when there's more random junk.

Having said that...I wouldn't mind that DVD set. Certainly better than the DVDs we seem to be getting this time around!

My box is due to arrive tomorrow. 7.3 lbs, 13.4 in cubed.

This hasn't happened before, the holiday must really be messing up the system.

My Carp has left Atlanta at 2:19 this morning. It should be going to Dallas,Ga, just about an hour west. Fedex usually does the electronic transfer to USPS at the same time as it leaves ATL, but USPS still says "There is no record of this item" in the USPS database.

Hope it didn't get sent Fla with the other bags!

I remeber I had these complaints a couple of bags ago. It felt like they had purchased crap specifically for the Baggie of Cthulhu instead of just tossing in stuff that didn't sell.

I mean, the randomness is what makes it fun. Broken stuff too. Hopefully, as they intergrate with Amazon, they will get more and more access to crap.

Is anyone beginning to think that there might not be any letters this go-round? I know it's still early in terms of shipping, but usually one is found fairly early. I mean, there's nothing that says there has to be letters sent out. Maybe Woot! is taking a letter break?

The solution is to not read what other people got, wait for you bag, and then read up on the posts. That way it will be random and a surprise to you!

You forgot about the hot pink craft bag in the 3/27/09 boxes! That was the first Baggie of Cthulhu I ever won, and it was quite the let down that nearly everyone had the exact same contents. Much to my surprise, the next Baggie of Cthulhu I got a couple months later ONLY had those 3 DVD's and 2 of the paper bags with the woot exclamation marks on them.

All that being said, it appears that woot goes through cycles with the Baggie of Cthulhu. Sometimes they have a ton of the same "random" crap to unload, which takes a lot of the fun out of it if you watch the board before the crap comes. But usually, after a run like this where it appears most boxes have the same stuff, they follow up with a more random Baggie of Cthulhu the next time around. It took me until my 4th Baggie of Cthulhu to get a little random thrown in with my crap - but they have always been well worth the 8 bucks.

Just know it is a cr@p shoot - if you keep going for it long enough, you may someday reap the otterific bounty of the woot gods!!! Until then, play with your Disney Princess stickers and stop your complaining!

I just looked at by Earbuds order that came in last week and Fedex sent the info to the Post Office several hours before the box went on the truck.

This is driving me nutz as our Post Office is usually pretty good about turning the packages around same day and delivering them. I'm wondering if it's going there or doing the Smartpost bus tour of the Southeast United States?

I've had several bags (mine is expected today).

I've received more than my $8 gamble each time. While 2 or 3 I've been lucky enough to net over 100 or even 150, my last bag had 2 Kenneth Cole watches in them (both retailing at about 90 a piece). I've gotten a projector, which I used to trace Dragons from "How to Train your Dragon" on my son's bedroom wall, and since painted. I also got a red Kodak camera once, that the SD card slot didn't open (at first). After some fidgeting with it, I got it open and it's a great camera for my boyfriend who isn't very camera savvy.

I have a 2.4 lb shipment, and I'm expecting crap. But I still return for the 'thrill of the chase'.
