I received the oh so polite response to my "where is my camera" inquiry last Friday.

Please remember the confirmation email states that it can take up to 5 business days for the item to ship out to you. The date of purchase, weekends, and holidays are not counted as business days for purposes of processing your order.
At present the order is currently in processing. Tracking data will be emailed to you once it is available.

Riley

Well Riley, last Friday marked five days, where's my camera?

Thanks for the information. The wife's birthday is nearing and I was worried about receiving it. Although the reference # method doesn't bring anything up for me, I trust it has been shipped.

It didn't work for me, either.

I just got the email with shipping information.

The New Amazon era is here apparently. WOOT used to be great with shipping. This time they billed my card 5 days before I got a shipping notice. And no arrival date! Woot's days are probably numbered. This time next year a click on Woot.com will redirect you to Amazon.com

I'm a person who likes "instant gratification" as much as the next guy, which is why given the choice and a competitive price I either buy at a brick and mortar store or in the case of software download it rather than wait for the physical disk.

All of our orders for this camera went in on the 22nd, if you count the BUSINESS days that's six days ago including today. Woot says they ordinarily ship within 5 BUSINESS days. I got my FEDEX tracking number today.

What's the beef.

P.S., I wouldn't be surprised if it's at my door today.

They sold over a thousand cameras, give it some time.

At one time I fantasized about working at Woot but on reflection it looks like a tough job.

Yeah, it's been in Texas for a week or more, that's where woot's warehouse is. Mine shows picked up in Irving TX, suburb of Dallas and scheduled delivery thursday.

Mine is set for delivery tomorrow. Although it was shipped FedEx Home Delivery, but is going to a business. Hope that doesn't screw up anything.

Same here, Houston, tx. Also waiting on the newegg card. Yanked the SD card out of the kids Wii. Go outside and play!

Arrived today (Houston).

Pics look okay. Video quality also okay (that may be generous).

One problem though: can't take any videos with sound. There's a setting for the mic (mute with zoom) that the camera was initially set to, but I changed to it "mic on", but still no sound recorded with video. Hmm.

Once people get theirs, please report on whether your cams record with sound.

Thanks!

Way too long, ordered on the 22 of August, still not delivered today, and the FedEx tracking cannot find it. I have purchased many, many things on woot and have always been impressed. Not now, and this may be my last purchase!
Missed a critical window where I wanted the camera!

Update: received the camera after waiting 13 days (too long?) and it seems fine so far, very satisfied. I have the earlier 15W which is a 10x zoom and is slightly larger and this 30W is easier to "pocket" and the extra stretch zoom is great. Mine had no scratches, had the correct 11A battery and the video audio works, just not when zooming. I will need to take the "way too long" shipping into consideration for the next purchase, seems worse that Hong Kong!

Try turning the volume up by zooming in video playback mode. Transfer the video file to your computer and see if you have sound recorded. If sound works when you play it on your computer, then you have a defective speaker in your camera. If none of the method records audio, you have a defective mic.

Mine records audio.

Sound works for me too. I think the pictures look pretty darn good. That said I don't have a fancy DSLR or anything, but compared to our old Canon 6MP its leaps and bounds better. The video does look ok, but its a lot better than anything else I have that records video.

Got mine today, arrived nicely packed but the wrong battery was in the box. I got a Samsung BP70A battery 3.7V 740mAh Li-ion battery instead of the SLB-11A battery that supposed to come with it, I've never had to contact woot! with any problems, what are my options here?

I would email woot on the write us button at the top. Interesting on the battery you got though. From my research the camera does use the SLB-11A, but the pictures woot had showed the SLB-10A. BTW I bought a second battery for about $28 from Amazon/

Just got it today in time to leave for my trip to aftica tomorrow. However, they is NO BATTERY!!! They didn't even include it. Now I can't take it with me. This is my first time dealing with woot and it has not been a good experience.

Woot responded that I needed to contact Samsung. Samsung said I needed to register the product and call customer service. Customer service said sure we'll send you the battery but it will be 15 days. Executive customer service said we'll see if we can expedite the battery but first we have to verify your warranty status is valid, and now I lost another day. I simply asked tier 1 customer service if I could pay for expedited shipping and they transferred me to executive, and now my whole status of eligibility is being called into question. I've heard good things about samsung customer support so I'm hoping this gets resolved quickly. I'm thinking of stopping by a best buy and picking up a spare and waiting for my replacement in the mail whenever that should finally get to me.

Got the camera today, but no CD-ROM manual. Does anyone know of a link to an online manual? I tried Samsung's site, it gives me a blank page for "Support & Downloads".

And I would really like to know how to use this for a wedding The Boy is in this weekend.

Try searching the Samsung website under WB600 (the carmera's other model number) or use the link http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/camera-camcorder/digital-cameras/compact/EC-WB600ZBPAGB/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=support.

If you are have problems viewing the page, you may need to update your flash.

got my camera today. pretty beat up: display scratched, looks like it has been dropped, gunk on the front of black part of lens assembly.

Seems to work fine and the speaker outputs sound when playing video on the camera.

Even with the cosmetic issues, seems like a solid camera. I do think mine is prob on the low end of their acceptability scale. I would hope so anyway.

Got mine today. Hope all of you with shipping issues have things sorted...

I only played with it a little bit, but hope for a proper test tomorrow while it's light out. Maybe. So far my first impressions are mostly positive.

I've purchased this as a backup camera to accompany my DSLR, and provide the ability to shoot video. It's replacing an older Samsung, an S1050, 10MP with 5x zoom. The old camera was decent, with satisfactory performance all around despite some noise and graininess at full resolution- apparently the 8MP version of that camera was better in this regard.

Anyway, this is the fastest point-and-shoot camera I've ever used. Granted, I'm not too familiar with "modern" P&S cameras, but I'm definitely impressed with that. Image quality looks good, and the zoom range is impressive- the effective focal lengths obtainable with this camera cover most of the range of my 3 DSLR lenses. Not that my modest collection is super high-end or anything (some $1000 worth, total), but still very nice for a P&S.

My one complaint about this so far is the minimum focus distance. it's pretty much awful (though I may be spoiled by my other camera...). I hope no one bought this thing with the intention of doing macro shooting, because this camera can't get close to anything. It's not a huge issue for me, given my primary camera, but it could be a deal-breaker for some. :\

ONE OF THESE DAYS, I'M GOING TO CUT YOU INTO LITTLE PIECES.

Same thing happened to me! The BP70A does not fit and it's the wrong voltage. I'm going to contact Samsung first, since Woot likely would not have replacement batteries and would just want me to send the whole thing back for a refund.

Got my two yesterday. One for me and one for my son. I like the pictures. ++

One though makes more noise and you can feel very slight vibrations when the lens extends as the camera turns on. That is probably why it was returned.

It makes sense and I guess we will see how it holds up. I am a bit disappointed but that is what refurbished stuff is about. You pay your money and you take your chances.

I think I win the bad shipment game - I got a box today with nothing but one of those inflated shipping plastic bags. I didn't get the wrong battery - I didn't get anything... Hoping this isn't too painful...

Imagine if Woot responds that you need to contact Samsung for the missing camera and then Samsung says you need to register the product and call customer service.

And seeing that the camera comes with warranty from Samsung itself (instead of from Woot or Seneca/Renovate), either Samsung did a sloppy in-house refurbishing job or contracted a lousy outside refurbisher.

Sounds like I may be better off not getting the camera.

Received the camera Thursday, with the correct battery. I like the features and the PQ is better than the camera it replaced. Unfortunately, the camera also has a problem with the zoom mechanism. It seems to have have one or two places during the extension when it has enough friction/resistance to cause the camera to shut off and the lens will retract. It will do that about one out of every three or four times I try to use the zoom through its full range. Changing it in small amounts at a time works better, but still shuts the camera down some times.

I guess I need to register the camera with Samsung so I can immediately exchange it.
