It is bad enough that all winter the house smells like fireplace and we don't have one.
Now, for the pass few summers, as soon as I open a window, it smells like fire pit.
I take it they don't have no outdoor burning bylaws there.

Understandable.
Here the cops find you and the fire marshalls patrol looking for violations. Of course there is always the danger of wildfires here so they most people are very sensitive to any fires.

I don't live in the country either albeit I'm on the edge of th city with country literaly past my backyard. Fire is just dangerous when we are in an arid condition. We also are close to Dallas/ Fort Worth so are included in an area where air quality is always an issue.

At this time of year even cooking fires are pohibited here.
Welders can't even strike a torch outside without permission from the fire marshal's office. That really pisses off the oil and gas developers.

My sister just posted a picture of her, my other sister, my mom and myself from when I was about 14...crap I didn't even recognize myself. I remember the shirt, shoes and belt I was wearing though.

wide blue suede belt, blue and white adidas shoes, blue bell bottomed jeans, black and white baseball t shirt. I was about 115 lbs soaking wet.
Sort of a Prince Valiant style haircut.
