Two of my former co-workers (one of whom I went to college with) died in a work related helicopter crash today.

I have 30 mins to find my happy face before home school starts.

Thanks pooflady. Survived homeschool. Have an extra kid today. Forgot we agreed to watch him today, thought it was Wed, Thurs, Fri... his mom says it's Tues, Wed, Thurs... whatever works I guess.

Getting ready for back to school potluck. Hope to help Ver1 meet some classmates. She's looking very cute with the new cut and the blue highlight on one side (relax - it's an extension clip, for now.)

The scary thing is, Hubbies brother makes him look like an uninvolved parent.
The brother bought a house near his son's college.
Now the kid graduated and is teaching english for a year in the south pacific. the parents visited him 2 weeks after he got there.
The south pacific! He couldn't get any further away and not leave the planet!
The parents are planning to visit every few months for the entire year.

Up to that son to tell the parents to knock it off. Unless of course that son is getting a lot of help (cash, stocks, etc.) and is, in other words, getting paid to put up with them.

although the south pacific does sound like a decent vacation destination.

i'd be more concerned if he was spending two years teaching english in baghdad and they visited every couple of months.

D'name- Be happy that son is where he is supposed to be and all is taken care of.They'll be plenty of vacations left in your life that you can enjoy.

Just got home from Ver1's back to school dinner set up her desk and found her cubbie. 19 kids in her class and only 6 are girls! She is very excited. She know 2 of the boys in her class and about 5 first graders. I get to stay and talk to the principal tomorrow about working in exchange for Ver1 attending afternoon sessions. That'll work until Orc gets a job anyway. Can't take the younger kids onto school grounds.

She's at the charter school. I keep hoping it's the right decision. I keep thinking it is. Of course if she gets bored here (or slacks off too much) the only other options are private really.
