Morning all. Hope everyone is having the break from the heat today like I am, loving it.

Edit: Poof, I asked at the restaurant yesterday and the woman told me that they give away five random free dinners plus a guest free by email. All others attending will be paying. The one at our location isn't until Sept. 27th and it's $35.00 unless I receive notification of a free dinner. It's also random who will and won't receive an invite at all.

She wasn't sure if all locations are done the same or if the corporation takes into account the income levels, unemployment and how that location is doing that may figure into it.

That's really interesting. I don't think I'd have taken them up on it for $35, mainly because we're just not wine drinkers and I'm sure that was a good part of the price. If I'm going to spend that, I'd rather have a Bloody Mary. P.S. They make terrific Bloody Marys.

Great. The top panel of the garage door just buckled where the opener connects to it!

Fortunately, I can still open and close it manually, but this is a poorly timed extra expense.

Hopefully, just the top panel can be replaced. Won't know til I can get a repair guy out here Tuesday, if I have any luck left.

Husband's starting the grill. Sirloins, garlic bread & salad.

Read an article last night on how to grill steaks. Not a long article but the comments by men on the article took me a half hour to read. Not too much consensus except for charcoal over gas and chimneys over lighter fluid. Room temperature. Don't salt until you put them on.

There was disagreement over pepper, brushing the steaks with oil, lid up or down, searing, direct or indirect, type of charcoal, briquettes or lump, or wood chips or hardwood.

Where is J3 when you need him? Anyone know of a free easy to use video editor? Ver1 REALLY wants to do a DVD for her homework, but doing it one take does not sound like a great plan to me with a 5 year old.... Especially my 5 year old.

I was wondering that, too. Mine did 90% of their themselves. Some checking and correcting, but....

I don't think mine did either. They just looked at the report cards and woe be the kid that didn't have mostly As and Bs. A C here and there was frowned upon, anything under that and the The Strangers (2008)hit the fan big time.
