I haven't gotten mine yet either. I do see my credit card was billed on 8/27. I'm in Illinois.

Just got my confirmation with estimated delivery of 9/7. That is ridiculous that I have to wait all the way through the long weekend to finally get this crappy laptop. Thanks a lot woot! I really hope that date is just a worst case scenario and it gets here sooner!!!

Update: It was on my doorstep when I got home from work yesterday.

Got the tracking email later on that day. Guess its shipping nearby!

For all those wondering: Yes Ubuntu runs flawlessly on this laptop.

I *strongly suggest* hopping into BIOS and flipping the function key control around as well as only turning WAN (wide, not wireless or WLAN) on/off with the wifi key, otherwise you'll have to press the wifi key on/off.

My uncle bought this laptop. Got it today and it appears to be DOA. It goes to boot and then nothing comes across the screen. Who does he need to get in contact with about this?

I just got mine a few days ago. The V key is defective, I don't want to return, I just want a keyboard that works. I went to Dell and it says this service key was purchased outside of the US. How can I get support?

You have a 90-day warranty through Dell. There might have been specific warranty contact info included with your laptop. If so, use those instructions instead of the Dell site. If you have any problems getting warranty service, contact service@woot.com for assistance and/or guidance.

So I got mine in and it worked for about 2 hours. Then wifi started failing, powered off on its own and took about 50 boot ups and boot downs to finally get it to turn on, then BSOD. I realize this is nots woots issue, so I tried to transfer over the warranty through dell to me and they need to original owners first/last name. Woot can you provide me with this?

Please email service@woot.com with your request. When awaiting a response, please check your spam filters, as occasionally woot responses get stuck in there.

Please do. I would like to know what I am supposed to do.

My cooling fan is screeching at me, and I want it fixed.

Yeah, it would be helpful so I don't have to call Dell and then e-mail Woot to get to that point. Mine no longer starts, probably had 2 hours of use before this happened.

I love my new laptop! Has anyone found a back pack or a case that will fit it?

RE: Warranty

I just sent out an email to everyone who ordered this item, nothing's changed in the warranty- there's just a little trick to registering. And because I'm lazy, I'm just going to post about the whole email here instead of rewording. Pls to forgive me. But do feel free to contact us if you have any questions:

Some of you already figured out about the registering thing and probably had issues with it- for that we’re sorry. As some of you have found, this notebook is already registered under someone else, and if you guessed Woot, you’d be wrong- it’s under a different company name. So here’s what you do:

1.Go to dell.com/ownershiptransfer
2.Type in the service tag located on the box under the laptop
3.Under “previous owner/company” type Metro Business Systems
4.Type in all your info and submit

Apparently they’re really picky about you doing this before you call them with any issues you’re having. If you do have any problems registering, you’re welcome to call 1-800-5551-8225 x165 for assistance. If you have any further questions or comments, you’re more than welcome to email us back too, we’ll do what we can to help you!

Apparently no one reads what I write, the phone number has an extra 5. It should be: 1-800-551-8225.

We bought this laptop on 8/26/10 and it is not working as of a month ago. We got a new battery and took it into a computer store in town which said it is the connection but they don't do that work on laptops. After calling Dell (we contacted you and found out we had a 90 day warranty) they find that ownership had never been transferred by Woot to us and that it is possibly a stolen machine. I wrote yesterday to Woot and have not heard an answer back. Looking for help on this one as Dell cannot help until ownership is verified.
