I've always hated the Snuggie. But this is Not a Snuggie and I must have it. Brilliant! plus a set for my parents. I hope it gets here before it starts getting cold!

Hmm... If this "not a Snuggie" is anything like a Snuggie, don't buy it.

I'm not knocking the whole "blanket with sleeves" concept -- I live in mine. I'm recommending the Slanket instead.

The fabric the Snuggie is made of is horrible. However, if you just want to try out the whole concept, this is way cheaper.

Also, let's nip the following off in the bud:

It is not just a backwards robe. It is long enough to cover the feet. A robe is not, unless you are a little person with a robe from the big and tall shop.

Woot does not suck just because Amazon bought it. Woot (and I say this with love) has always sold crap. They have always been fairly honest about that.

(Another plug, though for the Slanket, which comes in aa pirate print. Yes, you'll still look like an eejit.)

Hey nothing says, "I was required to buy a gift for the stupid office secret santa crap" like one of these AND you get a bonus one (for the inevitable "oh darn, I had no idea this neighbor/co-worker/etc that I barely know was going to give me a gift......but HERE I happen to have this on hand and all wrapped to give back to them just in case such a nightmare happens" moment)!

They'd also make good gifts for homeless shelters and animal shelters. Blankets of love would love a few thousand of these!

HelllOOOOOO easy Christmas gifts! YES!

The gift of warmth is actually pretty popular in my family. I just hope for decent colors, not all of one color.

Whilst reading "Plum Spooky" late one night I got up to refill my drink. As I traipsed across the living room I tripped on the front of the "not a snuggie" and landed, KERSPLAT, on my face.

This is the main difference between a "sleeved blanket" and a backwards robe—the blanket covers your feet and trips you. "Girding one's loins" like the ancients did is the only way I've found to walk in a sleeved blanket. Yes, this is more humiliating than wearing it normally, but it is far less embarrassing than being found dead in your Snuggie.

as an owner of one (gag gift last christmas) i must warn you all that this thing is a death trap. wouldn't recommend moving around too much with it on. the material (fake fleece) would rub together and build up static electricity and shock you with every movement you make. this is a brand name snuggie someone got me from cvs.

on the other hand, get one for your enemies and watch them shock themselves to death.

They're polyester, you can use fabric softener in the wash or Bounce dryer sheets or something when you dry them. Voila, no static.

which color is random?

bigfatbass

Correct, it is not a bathrobe on backwards because most bathrobes are actually wider. Anyone built larger than the proportions of a barbie doll will barely get it past both arms. Also, if this is indeed a knock off snuggie, the actual snuggie fabrics are worthless. I wouldn't wrap my garbage in that plastic, sweaty, crapola.

Next.

No whining, please.

I own an original snuggie I got at Bed Bath and Beyond for $15. AND IT SUCKS. Saying that I love the concept, but the original snuggie smells, so I washed it and when it comes out, it is thinner. I made a mistake and put in the dryer and now I can really stay warm, because I can cover my whole body and face and see right through it. I had to clean my dryer vent because of all the blue lint that accumulated. I almost could make another thinner snuggie with the excess lint.

Saying that, I just bought 3, hopping that "NOT A SNUGGIE" is better made and thicker. PLUS, I need some Christmas presents and for an average of under $5, I can cover 5 presents and update my HORRIBLE SNUGGIE!

AND to prevent falling, cut or safety pin the ends to a better height, if you intend to walk in it. Place a Velcro patch on the back to close it up.

Again, Great concept. For this price you can't go wrong. Don't like it, re-gift it.

And remember, DON'T put your Snuggie in the dryer if you want it to last for more than a few months. Also, wash very carefully and as few times as possible to avoid clogging your washer with tons of lint. I know if they are made in China you better wash them ASAP to avoid problems, but after that be careful.

I can't figure out what the "Not a Snuggie Deluxe" means: Woot Humor or really not a snuggie. In any case, this is to warn people of Snuggies.

They suck. Period.

I bought a pack like this from Costco, hated it and returned it. The material was the same or worse than the standard sub-standard blankets on airlines (itchy, full of static, and doesn't cover you fully if you're tall). I was very glad to use Costco's return policy on these.

Gizmodo did a nice piece on comparing the different robe blankets on the market:

And another article referring to Consumer Reports:

I don't see the "50% thicker than original" on the official site for these things, so can't comment on the "thicker" price... but the original ones are listed as $14.95 each plus shipping. For the price of two you can get six.

Killer deal woot! The folks in L.A. that had 113 degrees today probably won't be ordering many of these, but those of us in the Green Bay area were already down to 38 last night. Winter will be here soon and these would be great for those -30 degree nights when the wind is a blowin'

I dunno, my dog says he wants a few of these for his bed.

Seems a great deal for a dog blanket.

In for three, meaning six.

Heck, I won't have to ever wash his blanket again, I can just donate it to charity.

This is a fine Woot, dog blankets.

The slanket is miles better than the snuggie. Slankets are made of a much nicer material.

Also, gizmodo did a review on these quite a while back, for anybody that's interested. http://gizmodo.com/5190557/ultimate-battle-the-snuggie-vs-slanket-vs-freedom-blanket-vs-blankoat

And a real bonus is that dogs are color blind, so my dog won't care what color he gets.

Hmm... I hope he doesn't get caught in a sleeve. Maybe I'll have to put a cut in each sleeve. Really Woot, you should warn us about this kind of stuff.

You might have missed the news, mister Goodman lost 100lbs over the past year. Perhaps we should size these in terms of number of Goodmans?

I have that book light. It was a giveaway at a conference where they had vendors in a room hawking their wares.

It's pretty cool the way it works. Press the button on the side and it automatically opens. It is spring loaded but it's so smooth and slow it appears as if it is hydraulic.

I played with it a few times but never used it as a light.

It uses watch type batteries which are a hassle to replace. Too bad it did not use AAA batteries.

Woot managed to pull the equivalent of "grocery shopping while hungry" on me with this one... it's been getting cold here the past few days, so I'm sitting here feeling cold after having AC-worthy temperatures just a week or two ago, pulling out my warm socks and sweatshirt for the first time this season, and up comes the "not a snuggie" woot I want 3!
