Thats not a good idea. Refilling plastic bottled water bottles is very bad for you. The more the refill them, the more chemicals get into the water and you end up drinking them. This is thought to give you cancer. For more info just google 'water bottle refill cancer'. You should probably buy these!

Careful with this. If it's anything like the Kleen Kanteen, and I don't know that it is, freezing voids the warranty and may damage it. Make sure to read directions and whatnot.

All you have to do (and it's what I ALWAYS do with mine)to keep cold drinks cold in 'uninsulated' drink (and/or even the 'regular' plastic water) bottles is to stick one of those neoprene can cozies onto it & it'll keep your drink ice cold (or hot if you add a warm beverage instead) for hours! This idea works especially well if you'll just add a few ice cubes into the bottle right before filling it up with the water, juice, soda, etc. that you choose to be drinking on that day.
If you really want to 'plan ahead', then what you can do is very simple. You fill it up about a quarter to a third of the way with water the night before, and place it in your freezer overnight. Then the next day, or whenever you want to use it, you just fill it up the rest of the way with whatever your chosen beverage might be. By doing it like this, and then placing the bottle inside of a can cozie, your drink will stay nice & cold literally all day long, even in the hottest of weather! Hope this helps!

I like the sub-zero ones at walgreens. They put them on sale often. Regular price is like $3.99. Like ALL of the stainless bottles I have seen, they are made in china. The customer service for sub-zero was excellent. They sent me some of their sports caps since I had bought their bottles before they had that cap. I haven't had any problems with the sub-zero bottles I have purchased.

I love my kleenkanteen (yes it was $16 for one, but none of what you will read in the link)

It appears that the problems people were having were mostly related to how much they got charged, not the product itself. Unless Woot! has bought the company's billing policies in addition to the actual product, I wouldn't worry too much.

Yeah, with shipping considered, buying 6 would be the only way that they come out worth buying, imo.

Not to mention the health concerns also of not being able to adequately wash out a flimsy plastic bottle that you are reusing many times. If you want to be really cheap you would get something like these to hold your tap water and thereby thwarting future expensive health issues. God knows cancer ain't cheap these days...

Actually, I don't pay to shop at Costco, I have an executive membership and my purchases through the year give me enough of a rebate to cover my membership every single year and then some.

And it's not just "slightly" better when you realize you ALSO get the neoprene sleeves, and that 6 of the Costco ones with 6 neoprene sleeves is $20, while 6 here without neoprene sleeves is also $20.00

Lots of people are suggesting using the sleeves....but you still have to BUY some with this deal.

Geez, people get their panties in a bunch when others "think" they have a better deal that really isn't better, but I get dis'd because I did find a better deal? okay!

Get a Klean Kanteen instead. They have an insulated version if you want to carry hot beverages in addition to cold:

Costs more, but at least you won't be supporting a shady business.

If BlendTec can sue VitaMix, Kleen Kanteen should be all over this design.

I'll stick with my Kleen Kanteen. They did a product replacement program on the sports cap because some people complained when the cap broke if you dropped the bottle. So they replaced it with an even better made cap. For some reason I don't think this mfg would follow through at that level.

As someone already pointed out a few pages back... these and the kleen kanteen are probably made my the same company in China and then just have their name put on it and sell it as their own product even though they are technically just a middle man marking up the price and silk screening a name on them! if that is the case then their would be no lawsuit possible seeing as they dont actually own the design of the product.

Most of the complaints that I saw about this thing stem from the website and wacky shipping charges that annoyed people. Woot takes care of that problem easily.

In for 4 myself.

And the complaints on Amazon were generic complaints like "I've never used one..." "it's too cold to the touch..." or "it sweats too much"... Which are going to be the same for any non-insulated canteen. Again, you can't fairly compare products are completely misaligned in price.

Unless you are heating plastic to the point of melting (or eating it), there is absolutely no danger from using or re-using it, other than sanitary concerns. People are scared way too easily.

The reason to switch is the amount of non-biodegrading garbage it creates, because recycling is still pretty pitiful in this country on the whole.
