$34.95 at B & H but it has a crappy albeit succinct review.

"The best single word for this monopod is as follows: Flimsy."

Got one of these previously, there was a mechanical defect with the screw down collet/chuck that either caused the tripod to collapse too easily, or get stuck so you can't properly extend/retract it. The solution was to take it apart, re-align and lightly grease everything, and reassemble it. It works better now.

As for the utility of tripods in general; they're extremely useful when hiking and you don't want to travel with a bulky tripod. They also make decent walking sticks and self defense weapons against bobcats, mountain lions and the such.

At 60", it'll come in handy for pokin' at dead bodies without gettin' to close.

This would be perfect for aspiring bootleggers bringing camcorders into theaters.

I got one and I hope that it's not crap like the little tiny tripod that we always see during woot offs. It's not sturdy enough to keep the camera from tipping over.

Monopod arrived today - unfortunately it is defective and broken. Now to try to figure out how to return it at Frys

Got one, used it twice with my D80, borrowed a heavier camera (D700 x/ 70-200) and it broke under the weight of the camera & lens.
