I play poker, and I've had to endure opponents standing up, dancing, and shrieking when they put a beat on me. But I realize that they're just pumped at their own good fortune, and aren't trying to diss me.
Same here, except you didn't put a beat on anyone specifically. Celebrate away!!!
I wanna play some poker with you! :-) I'm tired of whiners ... in all walks of life! I've only been lucky 3 times now at the Bucket of Candy, but sure am happy with all the rest of the great deals I get from Woot! And if I don't care for Woot's deal ... I look elsewhere. Life is full of choices & those that choose to whine here, well .... Woot needs to add another section of cheese! LOL
To the man who introduced me to Woot ... R.I.P. Gary Brown! Love You!!

I was able to get one this time. I did have wooters.us up and heard the sound but did the normal "buy one" button. After an agonizingly long time I got the order page and then the confirmation page. No special skillz or robots other than hearing the sound from wooters, and I actually saw the screen on another browser session before that went off. It's been a long dry spell since my last bag so I hope it's nifty. Thanks, Woot!

That is just enough time to get my Bucket of Candy (for the first time during an actual woot-off) to my door. HOW DID YOU KNOW? I am forever greatful for the gift, in advance. My wife-to-be, also very excited!
Actually, your box may come while you're off on your honeymoon. Quite a few of the last round of craps took more than 2 weeks to arrive.

woohooo
got my carp!
It was weird, I actually clicked on the wootalyzer to take a look at the air horn that was for sale, and the wootalyzer didn't go off with the carp alarm til I was about to push the big yellow button!
this is truly a lucky carp for me!

Your assessment is very valid, it's not just total requests to the servers, but also the likelihood that the server will end up rejecting multiple requests and get them confused, forcing a reset of the connection which can kill your order attempt.
personally I have always had the best success when connected through a connection that I know has very few other people running a connection to woot on, during a woot off I usually have a remote desktop session running on my webserver hosted at a major NOC, fast and there are definitely fewer hops from my server to woots servers compared to going to through all the hoops of a residential ISP.

When I first started Wooting I would click the gold buttons, get frustrated with the times it took pages to load and (1)open multiple pages and (2) keep clicking the buttons.
Then I started a Master program in college for Information Systems/ Information Technology and found that what I was doing was counter productive. By opening multiple screens to try and get through and continue clicking pages while they were trying to load I was pushing my data packets out of queue, creating (or at the least exacerbating) bottle necking of data packets and forcing losses of information transferred.
When I started clicking the buy one once and waiting, without multiple clicks and multiple pages, I found myself making it all the way to the final confirmation screen much more often.
This is just my personal observation, but this is also my 10th successful BOC.

2 for 2 BOCs in the last wootoffs, after four years trying at almost every wootoff with no Bucket of Candy! Maybe the goodluck charm is to purchase something from the wootoff?
Happily anticipating the anticipation for my crap.
You may be right. I purchased something during the Woot-off and also scored the Bright Orange Cheetah.
