In for three...

one for MIL, two for me.

Yay me!!

I'm vegetarian too, I don't eat cows but these suede gloves will go nicely with my leather jacket. Apparently it is very toast warm to be a cow.

Today only, Woot Sellout offers the Isotoner Women's Suede Gloves in six colors for $5.99 plus $5 for shipping. That's the lowest total price we could find by $17, although they were $4 less in July (since expired). These MicroLuxe-lined gloves are available in sizes M to XL.

Cornmeal and a stiff brush cleans suede pretty well. Depending, of course, what you got on it.

I bought a pair of these last year at Sears or something. Then, I loved them so much I went back and got another pair... and one for my husband. I don't know how you're supposed to tell the gender for gloves, it's not like they have a feminine cut (at least not an obvious one). I guess the only girl-ish thing is the soft inner lining.

Anyway, he loves them, and they look plenty masculine when he wears them. I am seriously considering getting yet another pair through this woot for myself, and some as christmas gifts.

I can't speak for the ladies gloves, but the mens gloves run ridiculously small compared to other brands. I went shopping for gloves last weekend and Isotoner gloves were by far the smallest fitting gloves I tried on.

Their extra large fit me like a medium would in another brand of glove (meaning it didn't even come close to fitting).

I have been a customer of Woot since 3/3/08. And for the most I have been very satisfied. But then I realized that since my last purchase of 5/6/10 and 8/17/10, there has been an added tax! Now wait a minute, if I had took a closer look at my purchase last time on 8/17/10, I would have probably not have bought them. I mean, who the h*** represented me in taxing here.

Put it in your price. If the price is right then I'll buy it. If not, I'll move on but don't pull this crap of trying to basically extort dollars out of me; increasing it on every purchase! The main reason I've been a loyal customer since 3/3/08 and made purchases of more then 15 items is because there was not tax. I pay for shipping and the product, AS IT SHOULD BE. If I wanted to pay taxes, I'd just drive downtown and get it myself.

If Woot isn't making there buko bucks off endorsments, then maybe get a new marketing team but quit penny pinching the public.

As much as we'd like to not charge tax, the government really tends to frown on it. You could address your state representatives on our behalf. I know it's a bummer; I have to pay tax on my woots now too. =\

Legally you are required to pay tax on all internet purchases. Woot now saves you the trouble of paying them when you file your taxes. Just think now you don't have to claim all your woot purchases, it's done for you.

However woot is represented in your state, so the no Taxation without representation doesn't apply.

His anger is misdirected but I understand the feeling. Ever since Amazon bought woot, they are forcing woot to collect taxes for NYS. I'm sure there's other states out there as well. I already hate buying from them because of the hole tax issue. Newegg had a similar issue and finally dropped their affiliates in NY as to not have to collect taxes and they now get my business again. These are money grabbing tactics states are using to try and bolster their finances as they are in red.

The way I see it, Amazon ruined Woot for me. Period.

My guess is that Fumi lives in my state, New York, where legislator have passed the so-called "Amazon Tax" law. It forces out-of-state companies to collect sales tax even though the company has no physical presence in NY. Amazon (thus Woot) has a pending case against NY that is expected to reach the US Supreme Court. In the meantime, Amazon has decided to comply so as to avoid a retroactive mess in case they lose.

The pending issue is not whether NY can collect sales tax, but whether they can force an out-of-state entity to be their tax collector. Not only is Amazon unpaid for the task but charging tax will obviously drive away some customers, so doing so is a detriment to their business. I, for example, decided not to buy a computer on Woot because an 8.75% tax on a $600 item made it more expensive than what I found elsewhere.

Again, this is not Amazon or Woot's fault and they are fighting New York. If NY wins, many other states will pass their own laws. Woot is at fault, however, for NEVER having warned their customers about the tax. In fact, even now, affected customers don't learn of the tax until the very last screen. Some customers, like me, may simply click on the final button out of habit, not seeing the tax. There is NO EXCUSE for Woot not telling us about the tax on the first ordering screen (where you choose 1,2 or 3 items) since they already have our zipcodes.

A small remedy is coupon code "TAXSUCKS," where affected customers can get up to $5 back when the total order is more than $40. Texas customers have used it for years.

Keep in mind, also, that the State is the one charging tax, not W00T. W00T only collects the taxes that your state's laws require. If you have a complaint, you should begin by calling your district's State legislator.

The point is the New York State law, to my knowledge, indicates that IF you have affiliates in NYS then you need to collect taxes.

Does Woot have affiliates in NY? I'm pretty sure it's 'no'. But because they got bought by a company that does and that refuses to drop those affiliates, Woot and it's NY customers are getting screwed (Lets face it, it's mostly the customers)
