My Bag of Coal arrived in Des Moines today. This is #4 for me. Sounds like it's pretty standard, but I have to say it's the best one I've received to date:

2 Leak Frogs
1 Sony e-Reader cover
1 Picture Time photo ornament (red)
1 Digital Photo Frame Keychain (blue)
1 wonderfully hideous pink sparkly purse

I can use/gift pretty much all of it.

Thanks, Woot!

1 heinously ugly black purse
1 Spectra Digital Photo Frame Keychain
1 Mobi Universal AC Adapter for GPS Chargers
2 of those little LED lights

My Bag of Coal really lived up to its name but arguably provided me $8 worth of entertainment.

I got the SAME exact thing. First Bundle of Coats experience. The anticipation was worth the $8...i guess

I received my crap yesterday and found...

2x Texas air
1x Hideous black beaded purse
1x Loose psychedelic bead (from the aforementioned purse)
2x Tool Majic clip on LED light with detachable screw driver and pen (for tightening tiny screws and writing tiny notes)
1x AC adapter for GPS car charger

So, I thought all was over until I looked in my purse (sounds weird saying that...my very first purse!)

There were two pieces of paper AND...

...AND...

...I FOUND...

2x Pieces of crinkled up tissue paper.

Thanks woot! for the excitement. I'm hoping for more variety next time.

Meh...not the worst.

I thought Snuffalufagus too! Especially 'cause my purse is brown. Or maybe a Snuffalufagus - Chewbacca - tribble baby. Otherwise same haul.

I read through 13 pages of this forum rather quickly, so I may have missed this if someone else posted it.

The little light/pen geeky things also have mini-screwdrivers on the other side...Woot!

..and did you notice they look a lot like Wall-E?

No? Just me, eh?

So my wife came upstairs, and I asked her if she thought our niece would like the black purse.

"This is an evening bag," she told me.

I told her that I knew that, but I thought it looked tacky.

"But by all means, it's yours if you want it."

"It actually would look fine with a black dress."

She started taking it out of the sealed bag to get a better look...

"If you are going to take it, just do me one favor."

"What's that?"

"Just open it up, and make sure there's nothing inside."

"There's a letter inside!"

"Tissue paper, right?"

"Yes - howdja know?"

"Someone just posted that."

If anybody is interested, I would gladly trade my 2 leak frogs for 2 of the ornaments that hold digital pictures. I got the standard stuff too, but my daughter is going to love this stuff. Send me a message if interested.

I know pretty much what I'm going to get but I’ve been waiting patiently. I checked my tracking number this morning and it said out for delivery. I waited and waited, I watched the mail man pull up put the mail in my box and speed of in less than 15 seconds. I just checked the tracking info again and it says notice left. welcome the holidays. They didn't even attempt to delivery or leave a notice. Now it looks like I have to go to the post office and haggle over my delivery since I don't have a notice. This Bundle of Coats is killing me and I've been pretty patient.I just wish right now that Fedex delivered to my door instead of relying on Smartpost.

So I s'pose it's the thing to do. I got a green wookie (immediately repurposed as a joke gift...but topically), the ornament (red)/keychain (blue) digital grouping, Sony cover, and teh Leakfrogs.

Sorry, traders. The frogs are my favorite part.

I admit, I wish there were more variety. This consistency has made this thread awful dull.

Sony E reader cover, brown shaggy purse, snowman digital photo ornament, ball digital photo ornament. Not a let down but wishing there was more variety in what people were getting.

In my opinion that IS the let down. The fun was the anticipation of the unique junk you might receive. Now if you somehow scored two Bags of Crap you'd probably end up with two of everything with the purse color being the only difference. How sad.

I have the same feeling now that I've had when I was disappointed with a movie I was excited about (like Matrix II/III, and Starship Troopers without the armor), or when Futurama was canceled. Or Reaper.

Delighted with my Brown Old Cardboard that arrived yesterday in northern VA. No leak frogs, but 2 different cute digital tree ornaments, sony e-reader cover, funky pink beaded purse, and 2 neat little LED lights with a small screwdriver and mini-pen built in to them.

Even though there is a lot of similarity in these packages, the overall quality shift from odd lots and broken doo dads to an interesting assortment of stuff in working order is a good move. And I'm sure we will hear soon from a few folks that receive the notable exceptions.

Thanks WOOT for an interesting holiday box o' surprises.

You may have noticed I post a lot. If I ran away every time someone hit me with an insensitive comment, I'd be on Pluto by now.

You know, the planet Pluto...

Have there been any posts indicating someone got a letter yet? I haven't seen one.

Imagine if someone gets a pallet of hat lights. That would be, like 50,000 units.

BTW, the cheapest I can find those lights is $7.32.

And they're much less of a geek horror show than forehead lamps or bug-eyed brim lights.

Depending on whether or not they'll drop it at my door or not, I should have mine waiting for me at my doorstep when I get back from work.

It arrived in Columbus two days ago but sat around for seemingly no reason so it could be delivered today.
