I think our less intelligent cats would love this. The smarter ones would look at us in disgust, and wonder how human children survive until adulthood...

Yeah, I wish that I would have thought of marketing it first too.

Does this come with a coupon to mail off for the bugs, or do I need to pick some up at the pet store?

Saved $20 on this deal over the best price I found on the web!!! I wouldn't have bought one of these plastic toys if it hadn't been under $20 in the first place... my kids are gonna be surprised cuz I told them that nothing as chincy as that was worth $40-60!!

FWIW Girls like hexbugs too! My 5 year old daughter got one a month or so ago and loves watching it. She makes mazes for it with wood blocks and likes watching how long it takes to navigate the maze. I'd be in for one if my mom hadn't already bought her a habitat for Christmas...maybe I'll call her and tell her to return it and that I'd buy this one as it is definitely cheaper!

Sorry Woot, but have to share this.

Our 9 year old grandson spotted a derivative of this Habitat Set yesterday. Only difference I can see is that the one he saw was a non-bridge set. This was at the Radio Shack at Colonial Lakeshore Mall in Gainesville, GA. Their Habitat Set was on sale for $15 (SKU 600-0014), normally $30. An almost fully-stocked display table was located at the very front right-corner of the store. The sale tag said that price was good through Dec. 29th. Here's a link I found to what we saw.

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=10755888

FYI- At least at this store, all of the bots in the Habitat Set were the same color combinations in the 6-8 Habitat Sets they had out, blue and green. They also had plenty of the individual bots in numerous colors for $8, and the basic (starter) set for $10, all located on the same display.

My 10yo dd loves her Hexbugs, but I don't see her playing with them enough to get this. I'll have to think about it. Too bad this was up last Monday; Target had the Hexbugs on sale last week for $4.99, and they had loads of them. Didn't bite though. Sigh...

I bought these last christmas for my 3 yr old twins. (with supervision of course) They have been playing with them since and they play hard with them. We have not had a single piece break or wear out and it still even looks good. I'm getting all three sets today because your nano habatat can never have too many pieces. My kids are 4 now and still love them and play with them all the time. If you have a older kid there is a really cool website that lets you keep track of your nanobug collection also. As a side note I'm 37 and play with them alot also. The only real downside I can say is they wont go on carpet, you need a smooth surface or to keep them on the playset.

I think I'm getting into Heaven.

These have been specifically designed for this purpose, and as such, they have a shape and weight distribution that make them self righting. They're also fairly durable and ready to go right out of the package.

Yes, the toothbrush/blender project bla bla bla...might make a good science fair entry, but it'd be a lousy Christmas present.

Although I can imagining it would be amusing, to see the look on a child's face Christmas morning when they open their present and find a toothbrush, a pager, and a hot glue gun.

My kids (6 and 8) have this. I seriously have to question the packaging where it says it's educational, because it's totally not. In fact, I think it's pretty jolly but the kids love it.

My 7 year old son, 9 year old daughter, 10 & 11 year old neices, and 9 year old boy all LOVE these things. I didn't get it at first, but they are enamored!

30ish year old male I met can't stop randomly walking over and making these things go...mild adult amusement and conversation starter (perhaps on how back in the old days he made one out of a vibrating phone & toothbrush).

The price is great! 2 bugs cost $16-$22. At amazon $39 and http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4270676

No imagination? It's not legos, but use some blocks and set up all kinds of creative obstacles for these things. This set can be put together different ways, too. Kids have fun moving the bugs differently to come up with different results.

It is a HOT item this Christmas.

This is also harder to find in the stores, as I have looked and only seen it online, so it's likely our hexbug enthusiasts don't have this one.

My kids will love that they fall off the edge!

Hexbugs are one of the HOT toys this year and this is a great price! I already have one of these (and the Elevator set, and the basic Habitat set) but I'm buying a couple more - one for me and one for my Dad for Christmas.

You will want more pieces than this set though. This is made to be raised a level so the bugs battle it out then fall below.

It's fun stuff!

I refuse to waste any more time trying to have a better past!
