whatsamattaU wrote:I know this might not change what you do, but I looked at the FAQ, and I don't see anything restricting multiple accounts (did I miss something)? If you have a Bank of America or CitiCards credit card, you could get multiple temporary #'s on line (e.g., that would last over 1 month for CitiCards, possibly longer with Bank of America). I thought in earlier woots that people talked about how they bought from more than 1 account. Help, anyone?

How do I create a Woot account?
Scroll up to the top of this page where it says "Hi. Are you new?" Click "Start here." You will need to supply a valid email address, a password of your choice, and a unique community nickname by which you will be known. Then click on the "woot me" button and your account is ready for buying products and using the forums. If you plan to buy, you can add your credit card and shipping info to your account here. You can also add or change it later by clicking on "My Account." Only one account per email address and credit card number is allowed.

I got lots of email addresses, but no magic plastic offering 1 off numbers.

take into consideration that these are essentially mini tools. they come in a small toolbox. if you're doing small screws and nuts, the 60 piece multi tool set might be of keen interest.

I'm in for three. These are very handy to have around the house or in the truck. I have my good tool set but these are convienience tools that I can store anywhere in the house.

Is it just me or does the 60 piece multi-tool one seem to be able to do everything the rest of the sets can do (except actually ratchet) and more?

No clue about the quality of this brand, but these sets would definitely be cool to have a couple to keep around so you don't have to go out to your garage or car to get tools in order to work on your computer or whatever... or vice-versa.

My error, I read too quickly by the "email address" line. I actually do have two accounts with different email addresses, but have never used my second woot account until now, so I forgot about that rule. Sorry.

The precision screwdriver set looks great. One of that.

The ratcheting screwdriver looks like a pretty good design, and it's only $3. One of that.

The multi-tool looks like it COULD be useful for something. One of that.

My tools tend to disappear. Come to find out that my wife borrows them and hides them in various junk drawers throughout the house and then claims them as hers. I ordered 3 sets to replace incomplete sets that I have. (I'll be sure to hide them)

BTW - at the price offered, if you get one set, you might as well get 3 since you already spent the $5 on shipping.

At this price... these are perfect stocking stuffers. I bought 3 multitools. My Dad and both brothers will probably like having these in their glove compartments.

Skil Multi-Tool Reviews These typically sell for $10-15.

Not a problem, its always good to double check when there are questions. *pats you on the antlers* the 1 off numbers is a good idea, just not in my case.

Given their options I would have to open a PayPal account and link it to my magic plastic to pay on a 2nd account. And even that might not work. Given the horror stories of PayPal, that is not going to happen.

Dear Woot!,
Still sad when you offer multiple options on 1 offer. You limit Bag of Coal's to 1 breaking with the business model (and the server). Maybe it is time to consider, when offering multiple items like this, the option to pick more than 3 items. I think we would understand if there was a small kick to the shipping fee for getting more items. This way everyone could walk away happy, and maybe we could afford new roller skates for the smartpost snail.

Glad I hesitated when i saw these over at Home Depot and Buy.com...around $7.99 with tax then.

Got the 52pc ratcheting screwdriver, 20pc palm driver and 60pc multi tool sets..now I'm poorer by $13.97.

I agree that the 60 piece multi-tool will sell out first (and used two of my three woots on it). Probably dish one out as a present and use the other to replace the tools that slowly, inexorably are sucked into my garage's black hole.

Great deal for some of the more 'odd' tools. They're not everyday tools, but great to have around when the rare occasion calls for it. In for 3.

132 piece tool set for $15 shipped to my door isnt a bad price

Not a bad deal if you buy all three. Each one costs about $8-$9. Must buy more than one to make it worth the while.

What a quagmire! There's 8, and you can have 3. The 2 most practical are the 52 pc, and the 22 pc precision. How many times are looking for a small screwdriver, and you have 50 scattered someplace in the house... or so you think? The answer is 2 and 1 of either combo. You keep 2 and give one to your dumb brother in law for Xmas.

I was thinking of getting the precision screwdriver set as well (to replace the ratcheting palm set) however I already have two similar 10 pc precision screwdriver sets that you get from the 99Cents store..throw away types yes, but these had served me well on those very rare repairs.

I think the combined 132pc bonanza sets are well, well worth it for $13.97...come to think of it, it's like 10 cents each piece.

These sure beats my occasional Big Lots tool section raids..

Show off. :p

Cheap tools are also good for not so cheap projects that require a lighter touch:

- fixing eye and sunglasses
- disassembling the cell phone after the son goes for a swim
- tweaking the laptop when you realize 2gb ram just won't let it multitask.
- overhauling the desktop from 2004.

Also good for when you're tired of scouring the lawn for the expensive tools every time the boy works on the neighborhood bikes.

Precision screwdriver sets are gone while I was trying to figure out exactly what size bits come in each set.

By the way, don't even try to find any of these sets on Skils website!

Now, that was a tough choice!

Not to buy three sets at $5 a set: that was a no-brainer, even if they'd be a one time use deal per bit... But to choose 3 out of 7!!!

1 x Precision set to keep at the desk for all these odd little things I may need to unscrew.

1 x 23 piece Ratchet set for a tool box. Mostly for ratchet itself for when I need to do something in tight space....

1 x 60 piece multi-tool to also keep in a tool box, but also to take it along for long trips. (note to self - pack in checked baggage: 2" blade is a deadly weapon these days, even if made by once-good-company-now-bought-by-chinese-and-producing-junk-tools-from-subpar-steel)

Ok, all set, back to sleep....

Ya Your right, with 1/4 drive you need something heavy duty you can torque down good and tight. those little screws, nuts and bolts need at least 1,000 ft lbs of torque

I would say any tools are fine as long as you know what their limits of use are. It's not like you get less than what you pay for when you buy these tools (nor more for that matter). Cheap tools have their place.

Careful. Depending on where/when your bike was made, it could have metric nuts/bolts/sockets. Anything on a bike requiring allen wrenches most definitely requires a set of metric wrenches.

hahaaaaaaaaaaaa *high five*

Seriously, I am an engineer too. Electrical engineer to be exact, but I don't see how that's in any way, shape, or form remotely relevant to this offer. These are "around the house" tools for when you need to do a quick handy-person type job. You could be a rocket scientist or brain surgerist and these could still be appropriate for that sort of thing, although if you're either of those you probably don't need to deal-hunt for cheap tools.

Either way, the point is, nobody cares if you aren't interested in this woot based on your profession or educational background. It's a good deal for some very useful things to have around the house.

I ain't signing anything! What? It's not that kind of signature? Oh. So that's what it is? Oh. I'm still not interested.
