Can someone explain the craze with these new Digital Video Cameras? They're everywhere, and they seem to be relatively inexpensive...are they worth the money?

Anyone know how this ranks in comparison to other HD Camcorders on the market? The price looks okay, but no on board memory spikes it. Is 5 megapixel worth writing home about?

Also, does anyone see anything about a microphone or audio pickup? I know that can be real hit or miss on these pocket cams.

A launch, and a decent one at that.
Can't touch the features for under 100 with other had cams (flip, sony, etc).

Get started with the 64MB built-in memory

it has SOME on board memory. granted a tiny tiny amount. It still has some.

Sylvania tends to make some sturdy stuff. Definitely in for one.

I'm wondering if it can double as a webcam. Anyone have a similar looking model?

By the looks of it, you could almost use this as a spy camera. Looks to be small enough to fit in the palm of my hand. That way, I can take video while being all sneaky sneaky. And the black one will camouflage with my ninja suit.

with 5 megapixel it can depend on the lens itself. I know my iphone 4 has a 5 mp camera/video on it and it looks awesome.

as for 720p, you won't really notice a difference in 720p or the higher 1080 unless your screen is larger than 50 inches. Or at least thats what I have heard some experts say.

This'll be a pass for me. Digital zoom = definitely not.
5 megapixels... meh.
There are better digital cams out there for a little more; when I buy cameras, I'm picky.

That is not the same recorder. Pictures can be your friend or foe.

Looks very similar to and has the same specs (except for the little light) as my Coby Snapp HD

It is not worth the $65 I paid for it. At this price you may want to give it a try, maybe they updated the firmware too.

How much are memory cards?

I have a Flip but it is not HD. Been looking for a decent HD and this looks to be it. Nicely done and I think I am in for one.

I'm in for 2. I can take a chance at this incredibly low price.

I saw I believe the Sylvania's on either QVC or HSN for $99.99 free s&h last week. I already purchased the Panasonic models for young adults so this should almost finish Xmas shopping for 2 youngsters.

This is basically a nice smartphone camera without the pricetag of a phone or its contract.

This is perfect for my family. I woke up early on launch day to get the new iPhone just because I wanted to have an HD video camera with me at all times (you'll feel the same way too when you have a toddler). Now my wife can have one with her all the time, too, but for a lot less money.

Even if I have to buy an SD card, it's nice to have an HDMI port onboard. Makes it easy to share when visiting relatives.

Frustrated. I'm on the iPad tonight and the ordering page won't let me select the color so I can't order.

Woot, I know this is more of an iPad issue, but can you look into changing that???
